Beach Boys Concert--June 12, 1983

RFK Memorial Stadium, Washington DC
June 12, 1983

The contributor comments: "After [Wouldn't It Be Nice], Mike said "thanks very much for all you undesirable elements coming to the show today," an obvious reference to the comments of James Watt earlier in the year. The crowd responded enthusiastically...Carl put down his guitar for [What You Do To Me], and looked uncomfortable without it...After [Rockin All Over The World], Brian asked the crowd "What do you want to hear?" After lots of screaming song titles, Brian then says "You're all talking at once. Only one of you talk!" Typical BW dry sense of humor. After Surfin' USA, Mike explained that, unfortunately, they had to cut the set short because the game had gone into overtime, and they had to get to the White House where the President, First Lady, the Shrivers, and Special Olympians were awaiting their arrival."

It is notable that the set is so short that it even leaves out "Barbara Ann", a rare occurence.
