Dave McHarry writes: "Brian dedicated the show to the LA Lakers (playing in the NBA Finals). Brian dedicated Add Some Music To Your Day "to Dennis Wilson". Brian introduced God Only Knows as "Paul McCartney's favorite song". Then, in the middle of the first verse, Paul McCartney made a surprise entrance with his soon-to-be fiancée, Heather Mills, to a standing ovation from the audience, as they made their way to the center section, about 5 rows back (just in front of Rob Reiner, and just behind David and Eva Leaf). Brian immediately "perked up" and then altered the lyrics with "God only knows what I'd be without Paul". His presence seemed to energize Brian and the band. Throughout the remainder of Brian's set, Paul could be seen with his arms in the air clapping and giving Brian encouraging both-handed "thumps up" and "peace" signs. Later in the set, Brian asks "How would you like some Good Vibrations?... OK, Paul" (There was no "cigarette lighter joke" for this show). After Paul Simon's set, Paul McCartney appeared on stage and together the two Pauls did "I've Just Seen A Face" for an encore. All in all, it was really a magical evening!"
