Beach Boys Concert--August 28, 1988

Rosenblatt Stadium, Omaha, NE
August 28, 1988

Some interesting notes: By this time, "Getcha Back" and "California Dreamin'" had already been dropped ("California Dreamin'" would be brought back for many future concerts) while "Runaway" was still being performed. Apparently it had become a concert favorite! This is one of the first appearances of the "Dance Dance Dance/Do You Wanna Dance" pairing. Also note the appearance of "This Whole World".

C-Man writes: "Matt had taken over from Bobby Figueroa on percussion by this time. KOKOMO was just starting to climb the charts. At this show, Jeff Foskett sang lead on WOULDN'T IT BE NICE and DON'T WORRY BABY (Carl might've been sick that day...he looked kinda disheveled. They had to fly to Des Moines for another show that night. Or maybe Carl was saving his best vocals for the rippin' version of THIS WHOLE WORLD they did at this show! Incidentally, Carl skipped WIPEOUT at this show, on which Billy Hinsche was now performing the rap). Notice that the "surfin'" songs were back at the end of the main set again, instead of the encore!
