"When I Grow Up (To Be A Man)" made its live debut (other than a one-off TV performance in 1965) thirty-eight years after it was released during the summer of 2003. According to band member Scott Totten, this was the second performance of the song, the first was two days prior at Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, CT. John Stamos was present for this show.
The contributor writes: "Due to a rainstorm that started, Mike made the decision to go right into Summertime Blues without any break for an encore. Stamos played drums on 9-14 and 20-24 and percussion on God Only Knows and Kokomo. He got a lot of screams from the audience everytime he was shown on the big screen."
"Do It Again" is performed a lot later in the setlist than usual. "Surfin' Safari" becomes part of a different surf medley with "Catch A Wave" and "Hawaii", and "Barbara Ann" and "Fun, Fun, Fun" are back together again. "All Summer Long" makes it back as well.
A final note: it seems that the band was beginning to make a habit of skipping the encore build-up and just heading straight into it around this time. This happened during several concerts around this time.
