A Final Tribute to SoHo... our home, gone but not forgotten |
I know we were all jerked around a lot in the last attempts of bringing SoHo back. I finally did see that its days were numbered and accepted it myself. So here is the original version of the tribute... for all who wish to view.
SoHo... it is a place the has touched our lives, minds, and hearts, influencing the way we were to perceive our world for evermore. Friendships forged, loves found... lost, enemies made. To someone that never chatted in the Loft, much or any of this seems impossible; and to one who has, a flood of memories begin to fill his thoughts. Alas, with the destruction of SoHo, no one shall ever tell a friend of the spectacular place that must be seen, or of the unseeingly kind people who frequent such a utopia. However, it is the duty of you, me, and every other SoHoian to keep its legend alive... for it is not the room itself that made SoHo so special, but the collection people, good people. Some might say those good people have left, either through new-found obligations or outright disgust with the recent deterioration of the once glamorous SoHo. I, and enough others to shame those who don’t agree, know the good people are still around, and that it merely takes a tragedy like this to bring them back. So I ask all that will listen, and pity those that do not, to create a final tribute to our late SoHo, in hopes that it shall exist until its deserved eternity.
I know an unfortunate amount of viewers will shrug and roll their eyes at such a request, and possibly doubt the chance it can be done at all. What I propose for the beginning efforts is simple: a complete list of all SoHoians, a history of Loft milestones, and a collection of writing by other SoHoians relevant to this impressing event. The music should be just as powerful as the content, backgrounds including those of the major pages, and if logical, a medley of the most memorable music. Any other suggestions are highly welcomed, so if you have any please e-mail me.
Perhaps one day we can resurrect SoHo, but what good will that do if no one remembers what is was?
I was thinking that the guestbook should be more then that. A place to not only show our appreciation towrds SoHo,
but a way to know who's still frequenting the net. So I encourage all who attend to add their tributes.
