3D Views Competition Rules

1)Only members of NSA will be permitted to enter the competition.   Only
stereo items are eligible.

2)  Notice  of  Entry  must  be received by the Committee by 6/30/98.
NO ENTREES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THAT DATE

3) Each entry must be submitted on an official entry form or xerographed
copy thereof, or an 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of paper, either typed or printed
with entrant's name, address, zip, telephone number, Salon, and category
plus  title  for  the  exhibit and number of views involved.  Entry fees
must be enclosed.

4) For members not attending: mail your views by insured  mail  or  best
appropriate  way  and  include enough postage or funds for its return in
the same manner.  NOTE: Do not send your items  with  your  entry  form.
Send  items  so  they  arrive  one month before the scheduled convention
date.

5) Members planning to attend: bring your items to  the  convention  and
check in with the Competition Committee at the Registration Table in the
hotel.  Those attending but not arriving  until  after  5  p.m.   Friday
should  ship  entries  unless  they can hand deliver them to the exhibit
area prior to 9 a.m.  on Saturday.

6) The NSA will provide all display materials  and  means  for  display.
There is an entry fee of $6 per entry ($2 for Salon C) to cover the cost
of the display materials, ads,  awards,  and  security.   The  fee  must
accompany  the  entry.  One entry per category in Salons A and B and two
permitted in Salon C.

7) All entries must clearly state the Salon  and  the  category  of  the
entry and a full description plus number of views. There is a MAXIMUM OF
FOUR ENTRIES per member in each Salon.  Neither the NSA, the host hotel,
or  any  person  can take responsibility for damaged or stolen items but
every precaution has been instituted to protect each member's property.

8) RULES for SALON A (VINTAGE and/or MODERN) No more than twelve (12) or
fewer than  (6)  vintage (or  modern,  or  vintage/modern  mixed) stereo
viewcards constitutes an entry for Salon A.  In Salon A an entry such as
a  "Then & Now" of mixed vintage and moderm views may TOTAL no more than
12 views.  A member may substitute an explanation card 5"  X  7"  inches
for  a  view  in  Salon  A.   Example:  he  may  display 11 views and an
explanation card.

9) RULES for SALON B  (MODERN - MULIPLE)  No more than  twelve  (12)  or
fewer  than  six  (6)  contemporary  (taken  in the last 15 years by the
entrant) stereo viewcards constitutes an entry for Salon  B.   A  member
may  substitute  an  explanation  card measuring 5" inches for a view in
Salon B.  Example: a display  of  11  views  and  an  explanation  card.

10)  RULES  for  SALON  C  (MODERN - SINGLE CARDS) A single contemporary
stereo viewcard (taken in the last 15 years) constitutes  an  entry  for
Salon  C.  A maximum of four entries is permitted, with no more than two
entries in any one category.  Categories - SALON C (same as SALON B)

11) All views are displayed in special frames behind glass.   Each  view
is  enclosed  in a 5" X 7" transparent sleeve with a backing sheet.  The
backing sheet is approximately one inch higher than the viewcard, giving
the exhibitor space for title and other details.

12) Transparencies, anaglyphs, NIMSLO prints, posters, stereo equipment,
etc., are exhibited on a non-competitive basis.  Exhibitors must provide
their  own  means  for  viewing/display.   WE  MUST BE INFORMED of these
displays one month prior to the date of  the  convention  to  allow  for
space  DO  NOT  EXPECT  TO  DISPLAY  ITEMS  WITHOUT  PRIOR  NOTICE.  All
non-competitive items are displayed as space allows.

13) Ribbons will be awarded in each category  in  each  Salon,  provided
there are entries of merit to warrant the award.  Thus a lone entry in a
specific category may not, in the judges' opinion, merit an award.  Best
of  Show  plaque  will  be awarded in each of the three Salons and there
will also be a President's Award in each Salon.
