President's Message
We hope that you'll join us at the December meeting. We are looking
forward to a very interesting talk by Andy Talkov of the Virginia
Historical Society.
In accordance with the Round Table's Constitution, we will hold a short
business meeting at the start of the evening. Secretary Sandy Parker
will provide an update on our current membership and Treasurer Richard
Grosse will report on our current financial status as we close out this
calendar year. Immediately following these two important reports, we
will hold our annual election of officers for 2013. The Executive
Committee has developed a slate of officers for your review and
approval. The slate includes: President-Brent Morgan; 1st VP-Bruce
Venter: 2nd VP-Bert Dunkerly; Secretary-Sandy Parker; Treasurer-Richard
Grosse; Newsletter Editor and Webmaster-Gary Cowardin. The immediate
Past President and three former Round Table Presidents to be selected by
the general membership will make up the remainder of the Executive
Committee for the coming year. Any other nominations are welcome.
Finally, I'd like to say what an honor and a genuine pleasure it has
been to serve as an officer of the Richmond Civil War Round Table for
the past three years. I very much appreciate all of the support so
generously provided by the members of this great organization. I know
that we'll certainly be in very good hands in the future!

Great Holiday Gift!
We will have available for purchase copies of J. Ambler Johnston's
wonderful history entitled Echoes of 1861-1961 that he prepared for the
Richmond Civil War Round Table. The edition we'll have at the December
meeting is nicely bound and contains a wealth of information about the
development of the Richmond National Battlefield, the work of Douglas
Southall Freeman to establish Richmond's historical markers, visits by
dignitaries to Richmond's battlefields, interviews, and a number of very
interesting appendices. This would make an excellent holiday gift for
friends, family -- or for yourself!! ($20.00 for Round Table members.)
