Make a super playmat to go with any playset your child enjoys! Use long sheets of butcher paper taped together side by side, as wide as you can manage. Draw roads twice as wide as the cars in the set, and make intersections just like a real town. Leave spaces to set houses, stores, gas stations, schools, and whatever other buildings your child has collected from the set. Now, let your young friend color and draw on the mat to make the city come to life. Set the buildings from the set in their proper places. When the creation is finished, use it as a background for pretend games. You can store the playmat by rolling it up and standing it in the corner of a closet or behind a door.
