Cooking Substitutions

1 c.= 8 oz.= 16 T.

3/4 c.=6 oz.= 14 T.

2/3 c.=5.33oz.=10 T.

1/2 c. =4 oz.=8 T.

1/3 c.=2.66 oz.= 5T.+1 tsp.

1/4 c.= 2 oz.= 4 T.

1/8 c.= 1 oz.=2 T.

1 T.= 1/2 oz.= 3 tsp.

1 oz. of chocolate = 3 T. cocoa+1 T.fat

1 c. 6 oz.chocolate chips = 2 squares

1 T. flour = 1/2 T. cornstarch or 2 tsp. tapioca or 1 egg

1 c. sour milk= 1 t. vinegar+1 c. milk let stand for 5 min.

1 c. cake flour= 7/8 c. all purpose

1 c. white sugar= 1 c. packed brown sugar or 1 c. honey but reduce the liquid by 1/4 c.

1 tsp. baking powder= 1/4 baking soda+5/8 cream of tartar
