Back to PreviewsMyth II: Soulblighter
(ADVENTURE) Bungie will follow-up its 3D megahit Myth with Myth II: Soulblighter. Although the Fallen Lord Balor is now destroyed, a new evil has crept into the land, threatening King Alric's reign. Although Myth was an innovative game with revolutionary 3D terrain, Bungie isn't resting on its laurels; Myth II will have plenty of engine enhancements and gameplay improvements. The terrain in Myth II will be enhanced with more detail and animating 3D objects like drawbridges. There will also be colored lighting. 3D fire will also be added, which will spread through trees, raze the landscape, and damage nearby units. In addition to new terrain types, the maps will now boast creatures, like chicken and livestock, to add to the realism. Gameplay-wise, there will be indoor missions and fortifications. We hope that means castle sieges, burning oil, and hails of arrows from castle ramparts. New magic spells will be added to gameplay, and units will sport more frames of animation and multiple attacks. Of course, new units will enter the fray. The list of other enhancements include 3D sound and worldwide rankings on Bungie.net. Look for Myth II to take 3D tactical to a new level.
