Microprose In keeping with the MicroProse tradition of releasing licensed titles years after the actual film release comes Top Gun: Hornet's Nest, an action/sim that takes players back to the Navy training school this time to learn the nuances of the F/A-18 Hornet rather than F-14 used in earlier titles. The game will feature more than 30 different action-oriented missions that cover attacks on both ground and air targets. In addition to 3D graphics and special effects that the company is referring to as 'eye popping', Hornet's Nest will also feature an extended multi-player mode that will support up to eight players over Modem, LAN, or Internet and will contain special multi-player maps for high speed head-to-head dogfighting. The game is slated to ship sometime in the winter of 1998.
