Booger's Tale of Acquisition

Booger was a Polar Silver 1957 Deluxe Sunroof Beetle that now resembles a rusted heap. Sitting under a group of unforgiving trees for almost 15 years, he is covered with thick, green algea and has many different species of insects living amongst the corrosion. My wife and I acquired Booger from a guy that is four hours away from us in Tallahassee and the car received his vulgar name while resting on a tow dolly making the four hour trip back home. Peoples' faces pressed against the inside of their windows as they carefully sped by (avoiding parts falling off, out and through on to the highway) told the whole story. We live in Central Florida where the population of aircooled VW's (for sale anyway) slowly wanes. Anyway,Steven Reecy, another member of the 'Vintage VW List', leaked information about an oval over the net, unknowingly gaining a couple of friends instantly at that exact moment. Steve and Karen, his wife, are two really great people who just happen to own Booger's older brother, a Polar Silver 1956 Deluxe Sunroof that is in extremely better shape with an odd hole here and there. Booger of course is incomplete with doors and Euro lowback seats from a '58 European Beetle. Not to mention his many other non-stock/non-period accessories and lack thereof.
