Thomas Bragg 63, farmer, wife Nancy 54, son Thomas B. 18, Granville 14, and Nancy A. 23 Thomas is listed in the WAR OF 1812- Roll 10 Bragg, Thomas (P&BLW) died 1 Feb 1879, Flu. Co. VA Last address "Chapel Hill, Flu. VA". He married on 15 Dec 1809 to Nancy Johnson and witnesses are Thomas B. Bragg and Granville J. Bragg., The Fluvanna records show that Thomas and Nancy was married married 11 Dec 1810; min: William Baskett. NOTE: found a John Bragg, who moved to Fluvanna Co. abt 1778, from Richmond Co. VA, Family Biography; The Bragg Book, by Maurice Neville Blakemore; 317 pages
John J. Bragg, son of Thomas and Nancy was married to Miss Frances Griffin, daughter of Nancy Faris, wife of Samuel Faris, formly Griffin of Fluvanna Co. on the 21 day of March 1833. According to Christian Ellen Thomas Bragg, granddaughter of John J. Bragg, John was killed in a duel. George N. Irving married Frances A. "Fanny" and raised her children James M. Bragg, Christiana Bragg, Mary L.,and John J. Bragg, Jr.

I have a copy of the following Bragg Reports from John Bragg in the Will Book: 1)1824, 1825, 1826, & 1827: Inventory; Names given: Wm H. Bragg, Wyat Bragg, Richard Loving, Gerthire Morris, and David Ross, Benj. Bragg, Jesse Baskett, Saml Boatright, Thomas Bragg, & Micklebery Boatright. 1 Dec 1778; This indenture made this first day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy eight between John Pierce [Pace] and John Bragg of Richmond of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of eight pounds current money to the said Pierce [Pace] in hand paid by the said John Bragg at or before the sealing or delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof the said John Pierce [Pace] doth hereby acknowledge and there of doth release acquit and Discharge the said John Bragg his Heirs and Administrators forever by those presents, the said John Pierce [Pace] have and hath granted bargained sold aliened remise, confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell, align, remise, and confirm unto the said John Bragg his Heirs and assigns all that tract of land lying in the County of Fluvanna and on head of the roundabout Creek adjoining Elias Williams land and Wilson Miles Cary line containing by estimention ninety nine acres by to some more or less Relation being had to this as may more at large appear that all Houses, Outhouses, E?, Buildings, Yards, Garden, Orchards, Woods under ( and so on). Bragg is buried in the Houchens family cemetery near present day Lake Monticello. George E, Bragg was the enumerated in the 1920 census of Fluvanna Co. In the household of George W, Houchens, who lived in the Cunningham District near Wesley Chapel. Mr. Bragg is listed as age 67, widower. His occupation is given as laborer in a saw mill. He could read and write.

Ben and his brother fought for the Confederacy under General Lee and Jackson in the "Fluvanna Hornets", Co. F. of the 44 Regt. He was wounded at Port Republic. He died Oct. 6, 1912, at the age of 73 yrs. and is buried in the Grace Episcopal Church of Bremo Bluff, Virginia. Bible

Since we were in contact I have discovered that my grandfather married two women married Mary! He married Mary Hutchinson BRAGG in Fluvanna Co., VA. however; his wife named Mary who died in Michigan was Mary Elinor SMITH! All of the children that I know about belonged to Micklebury and Mary Elinor SMITH. In fact, it turns out that Mary Elinor SMITH's mother's name was Nancy....the same as the oldest child.
