Chapter 1
 
 

        When mercenary extrordinaire and eater of doughnuts Wade Wilson contracted cancer he went a little nuts. He signed on for Canada (the greatest country on the f*&$ing planet)'s Weapon-X program he was given an experimental treatment menu to imitate Wolverine's healing factor. He was cured of cancer but he could not become the hero that Weapon-X was supposed to make him. So he was sent to a secret facility for hero factory wash-outs. Wanting only to die and rid himself of the pain he gained a good friend namely a cyborg named Worm. When he encountered the being named Death, who he found to be the best reason to die, he tried more furiously to end his life. His plan: mock the much stronger, much faster much more twisted supervisor of the wash-outs known as The Attending or as Wade often mocked him with his real name: Francis. In the end his mocking wasn't what killed him. Worm was lobotomized for Wilson's actions who had quickly broken his friends neck so as to give him peace. Finally finding a reason to kill Wade he took the chance and ripped out his heart but because of his healing factor, the hatred for francis and a thirst for vengeance he was not allowed to die. Charging out to meet Francis he shoved two automatic rifles taken from some guards who now could --ahem-- look the other way about all this, into The Attending's gut and splattered his spleen. Proclaiming that Wade Wilson was now dead he then became Deadpool though it did cost him what was left of his sanity.
 
 

Chapter 2
 

    After a life of murder, maiming, mayhem and pretty much anything for money (pretty much) Deadpool's own disgust for himself lead him to try to turn his life around and become a hero. Life hasn't let him achieve this goal. He's been nailed by the last person in the world he would go for (Typhoid Mary), beaten into a bleeding pulp (by T-Ray) And beat up his closest friends (Al and Weasel). But Zoe Culloden, aka The Expediter, an agent of LL&L recently informed Deadpool of his role in the mysterious Mithras Directive in which she has been grooming him to be the "New Messiah". This idea if nothing else has really pushed 'Pool to correct his past transgressions. He has recently freed his long time room mate/prisoner Blind Alfred who despite years of torment from the Dead-man refuses to leave him having faith in him and perhaps some unpaid debt she owes.
 
 

Chapter 3
 
 

     Dead Reckoning came. The time had come for the Mithras to do his job. Without the armor L,L&L wanted to supply Dead Pool went out to face Tiamat. One one one and a half (Zoe was there in holographic form). They fought fiercely and just when dead pool seemed to be about to destroy Tiamat, the tables turned. Tiamat plunged an extension of itself into Dead Pool's chest. The Wadester barely had enough strength to get out and teleport home where a bomb greeted him. The Mithras seemed to have lost everything for every one so he decides to go back in time with the help of Noah's teleporter in hopes of telling him and Zoe not to waste their time on him. He wasn't the Mithras. When the Noah of the time (who couldn't see Dead Pool because they were out of phase) said Dead Pool had the heart of a hero Deadpool knew he had to go back and face Tiamat again. That's When he met his second string: Captain America. The final battle began in the sands of Egypt and Cap was facing down Tiamat with far less efficiency than usual due to the armor he was wearing (yes the same armor DP turned down, still wet with paint) and was nearly beaten when 'Pool showed up. Tiamat became obsessed with destroying the Mithras. So much so that he ignored that which he was sent to destroy: what the 3 Ls called the Messiah and what his people called the Destroyer. Tiamat's elders saw this obsession and bestowed 'Pool with the powers necessary to kill the Destroyer. Through the possessed body of Cap, the creature with so many names pleaded to Deadpool not to destroy it. It argued that, sure, it removed free will but it gave joy did he want to remove joy from the world? DP chose free will and with a swift kick to Cap's family jewels he was off to save the day. He did so and the world nor Cap new what saved them. Oh incidentally it turns out Jerry, Wade's homeless compadre is the former forth L of LLL & L and he knew he would be beaten by Tiamat and he allowed him to be massacred by T-Ray and he let Typhoid have her way with him and finally allowed Ajax to kill him. In the end Dixon went section eight and was tossed in a padded room, Monty was fired and Zoe got promoted to overboss. Deadpool is again missing and Zoe recommends to LL&L that they leave him alone and never mention him again.
 
Chapter 4
 
 

    As it turns out, making the decision between free will and endless bliss sent DP spiraling out of control back into an even more dangerous insanity. He began to see bunnies every where, a woman pouring booze into a gallon of milk and hears the song "CRAZY". Well you can see how something like that would worry some one even dead pool admitted something was wrong and sought professional help from none other but DR. Bong. The washed up super villain had went gone to school. He still postures and laughs meniacly at times. Some things stay with you as you go from profession to profession. Doc Bong discovered that Deadpool thinks more clearly and sorts through his problems best when he's locked in mortal combat. Deadpool chooses Wolverine as his opponent for his stamina and healing factor. Through the fight Wade discovers that the bunnies are a manifestation of the guilt he feels for the pain he has caused through his failures and possibly triggered by what he considers the biggest failure of all being the... incident... in the sand. He began feeling guilty and that's what the bunnies were but what was the woman supposed to be?
 

Chapter 5

 
       A long time ago in a town far far away there was a young high school girl named Mercedes. A beautiful girl with a loving boyfriend who wanted to be a teacher. Eventually they were married and lived in a nice house in a nice place with a nice car. Then less than a year later heaven's walls were breached and the monsters came. Then in the snow, with hickory smoke in the air and Patsy Cline's "Crazy" playing, Mercedes Wilson died, And her husband, Wade, could only watch (if any of this sounds familiar see issue 29 then and only then check out issue 13).

       Deadpool is sent on a mission to Louisiana where he runs into (literally) the quarry of his good pal BULLSEYE. This quarry happens to be Mercedes. Later after saving her from a gruesome if not punny death he  discovers that she is not a clone (like we would forgive them for putting that in!). Mercedes is the real deal. And then a zombie wielding chicken look alike bursts in and starts tarring up the place looking for her. Someone mystical is searching for her and is powerful enough to send mercenary after mercenary for her, cause Alestair to flee, has magic powers that are exercised through paper and is... get this... an albino.  As wade quickly dispatches the zombies Mercedes asks Monty how her husband could have changed so drastically since she last saw him. Apparently his hallucination of an unknown woman was that of Mercedes herself, Deadpool's REAL biggest failure: not being able to save the woman he loved. Eventualy Deadpool tells Mercedes everything and they go back to hellhouse for the first time since issue um... 12 I think. Deadpool is met by dozens of otther Mercs on the side of T-ray who as we remember basicly owns hellhouse now. Luckily DP still has some friends there. Fenway, CF and good ol' Patch help him find Alestaire who could tell 'pool all he needs to know. Unfortunately before he can say anything he is mauled to death by a slew of undead cats. Soon monty is found out side stapled by a bone through the chest with a message... from T-Ray. He was the mysteriouse person watching all the time he was pulling the strings. After going to L,L&L to patch up Monty he and Mercedes try to teleport to a place where T-Ray can't find them. But he does find them.

Chapter 6

    Deadpool and Mercedes find themselves not where they wanted but in front of a cabin in the snow. T-Ray is waiting or rather a living dirt statue is waiting as Deadpool discovers as he blows a head sized hole through its worm ridden chest. T-Ray locks Ilaney up in her own personal hell where she continualy relives an accident that only she survived then takes Deadpool on a ride showing him Mercedes parents, the school in Calgary where she and Wade met and the place they honeymooned. For some reason Deadpool can't remember any of this but T-Ray has an explanation: the reason Deadpool can't remember is because he isn't Wade Wilson... T-Ray is! T-Ray tells a story of a man named Jack. A low-level mercenary he screwed up a job for some very bad people.He needed to hide to change. Luckily he had made a life of changing. He would take clean lives and make them his own. He had decided to do just the same thing to the Wilsons. Some third degree burns and a dead body later he could BE Wade Wilson. No one would know any different and he would have a new life with a new wife. While struggling, Jack takes out Wade. He can deal with that, while unplesent it's just buisness as usual but what he can't deal with is his accidental killing of Mercedes. Up till this point he only killed who he thought deserved it. As life ebbed away from her shell his sould shattered. He lost his mind. As Jack stole Wade's car and wallet, Wade (who remarkably was still livung) found a reason to live: revenge.

    Soon after Jack left his employers arrived and found Wade. Wade pledged his life to them if they could help him destroy Jack. They did, They trained him and he killed them when he still wanted better teachers. In Japan he found them and sold his soul for the neccessary power. By the time he tracked down Deadpool at Hellhouse Jack had gotten so accustomed to being Wade he actualy believed he was Wade.  And as an anniversery present to his wife, T-Ray had her resurected and brought to Wade so that he would know the loss the real Wade felt. He then showed Deadpool all the people that had died because of him to make him crack at his own self-disgust. Deadpool however isn't destroyed. Every time he tries to do something good like saving the universe he gets the shaft but he still wouldn't change a thing except killing Mercedes. When T-Ray attacks Mercedes gives DP power enough to beat T-Ray because he resurected her soley for revenge but she takes the power away because she can't let herself let him kill T-Ray, her Wade. She And T-Ray disapear T-Ray promising to fight again and letting loose all those Deadpool killed. As a parting note T-Ray tells Deadpool to keep the name "Wade Wilson".
