It was her who put an add in the LA paper "The Recycler". She wrote that two garage rocking sisters were looking to put a band together. I don't know how many people reacted, but she could form "The Bangs" then!
Vicki did write the most for the Bangles, she wrote everything on their EP and on "All over the place". Well, except for the covers of course. Sadly, she never had a single with her vocals on lead, except in "Walk like an Egyptian", but maybe that as because her songs rocked the hardest and probably weren't "commercial" enough. Too bad, the casual fan could never find out how talented she really is.
Her rol in the split up is a mistery. Probably she was sick and tired of the fights, just like Michael and wanted to go on with her life. Or maybe 10 years of the Bangles, it was time for something new. She did so, she played in Psycho Sisters before she became a member of Continental Drifters, who made two full lenght cd's. Those cd's are hard to find in Europe, but you might want to give it a try. She plays the guitar and sings on it, just like in old Bangles days.
Vicki was always laughing and enjoyed what she was doing. Her opinions were very strong but she didn't say too much in the open. I think she was the secret leader of the Bangles, allthough they always said not to have something such as a leader. And even in the Bangles Reunion Rumours, it is said that it was her who put everything together to do so.
My favourite songs with Vicki are "Watching the sky", "Angels don't fall in love", "Restless" and "Make a play for her now". She even went bluesy with "Return Post".
