After homeschooling now since January of 1998, we've come a long way. I have discovered literally thousands of internet sites. Using these makes homeschooling practically free for most people. The main thing is to be committed and dedicated to doing the "leg-work".
What's listed here are only a few of the many really good internet websites you can use for your homeschool.Over the past couple of years, I've found it necessary to create a Yahoo! group to house the many sites I've visited. This also makes it so much easier to share them with others. If you're interested, you can send a blank email to HomeschoolZoo and you will be subscribed to my once-a-week newsletter. It's set up so that only I post to it, but you can still contact me through it by emailing me as the list owner.

our emailI am always on the lookout for new and interesting learning sites. I am also always open to suggestion as to how to improve my site. I invite you to contact me.
"Echo Mountain and Crum Academy Homeschool" is my main personal page. Here you will find more links to my favorite sites. Though many are home school sites, I have a lot that are focused on other interests as well. Why don't you go take a look around? Don't forget to sign my guestbook there and tell me what you think of what I have so far!

I am a stay-at-home-mom, known currently as a SAHM. I have five children and five grandchildren.
My particular interests are herb gardening, crocheting, and sewing, along with studying my Bible and, of course, the internet!
We are currently attending Trinity Faith Tabernacle in Greenbrier, AR. I wish I could share a website with you, but they haven't set one up yet.
We have been home schooling since January of 1998. Right now our whole world seems to revolve around home schooling and church activities.
We live out in the country, so we are able to have a garden and a number of animals. These things help the children to learn not only responsibility, but also some life science. Since we are located in the foot hills of the Ozarks, we have many opportunities for field trips that involve nature studies. We are also close enough to the state capitol to be able to visit there and see our state government in action. Arkansas also has many museums and parks to visit which provide further educational opportunities.
Back to topI enjoy all kinds of crafting. So do the children. We also enjoy our animals. Our favorites are our goats. We have a Nubian doe and a little mixed doe who is probably part pigmy or dwarf goat. Very soon, we'll have new kids to play with!
They each have a distinct personality and even emit a distinct sound, so that we can tell who is being noisy at any given time! Goats make good "watch dogs" because they really sound off when anyone comes around!
We also have a small flock of chickens-about 25 hens and 2 roosters. These supply us with plenty of eggs for eating and using in recipes. We share the surplus eggs with our family and with our friends. We also raise chicks each year, about half of which are roosters. We put them in the freezer in the fall while they're still tender.
We are attempting to become as self-sufficient as possible. No, we are not survivalists. But we do believe that it is to our benefit and the benefit of our children to operate on a basis where we do not depend entirely on outside sources for all of our needs. While we realize and understand this lifestyle is not for everyone, we know it is right for us. And it is a source of great personal satisfaction.
Being a SAHM means we have had to make some decisions about what our priorities are. We have also had to make some "sacrifices." We are not by any means living a Spartan life, but conversely, we do not live in luxury either. We depend on one income to supply us, so obviously we have had to make decisions about how often we eat out, how frequently we rent videos, how much we spend on utilities, how much we spend on new clothing, etc.
