After many years staying at Harrah's
we took a chance on Rio. What a great decision! Check in has never been
a problem. All employees are very courteous and friendly. Tables are somewhat
crowded on weekend evenings, but what good casino isn't. The food is the
best! If you don't get a steak at the All American Bar & Grille you're missing
out. The buffets are fantastic. The Rio is a great place
to stay. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. You have everything
you need right there! We stayed in the new tower which is very close to
the "self-parking" garage. It's a great place if you are in
to drinking & partying! Try to avoid Sat. if you're just going to check
out the Masquerade Village (which was beautiful and fun!) or gambling!
The Carnival Buffet was the best as everyone has said! You have such a
choice that it is actually overwhelming! I would probably not stay at
the Rio again just for the fact that I like to walk out of my hotel &
be on the strip! If that makes no difference to you then stay at the Rio
-- you'll love it! We did rent a car which I would highly recommend if
you're staying at the Rio. It is a lot easier & you're right by the freeway!
Viva Las Vegas! This was my third stay
at the Rio, and it just seems to get better everytime. For the price there
is not a better place to stay. The buffet is great, the rooms are large
and comfortable, Slots are pretty loose, table minimums are pretty high,
I couldn't find a $5 dollar blackjack table anywhere. Over all on a scale
of 1-10 Rio gets a 9. I'll be back next year. Food excellent (carnival
and seafood buffet). Staff extremely helpful as my wife got sick during
the stay, and we needed to extend our reservations. No problem at all.
Mardi Gras entertainment in the casino is great, particularly since Rio
allows videotaping and cameras, which is usually a no no in a casino.
Off strip location is not a problem, although I wish the shuttle bus made
a few stops along the way to the strip station. Dealers and crap table
staff are very helpful to newer gamblers, as opposed to Atlantic City
where if you make a mistake you are considered an idiot, and usually have
that pointed out to you by casino staff. Although initial read on Rio
was that it was for a more youthful crowd, it was certainly comfortable
for all ages. Security people quickly alleviated a problem we had with
our in room safe, and were very cheerful in doing so. Security access
to room locations is very high, unlike some other hotels in Vegas. Would
certainly recommend Rio to others, and clearly they have my repeat business. |
