Training had been going along really well, though it wasn't as entertaining now that she had disciplined herself not to 'use' Kell anymore. They were back at George's house this time, going through her drills with long wooden staffs in the back yard. Meredith was close by brushing up on her swordsmanship. Susanne was lounging with Roger on the grass. 'How can she afford to just sit there' Kristsi thought, brushing her hair out of her eyes. 'Doesn't she have some training to do?' She sighed and turned her attention back to Kell.

"...keep a good grip, or else they'll knock it right out of your hands---are you listening to me?" Kell asked in exasperation. He brought his wooden staff down and leaned against it, looking at Kristsi sternly. He was bare-chested, and the drills had made him break out in a sweat.

"It's hard to concentrate when the glare off your sexy body shines in my eyes," Kristsi said sarcastically.

Kell's blue eyes narrowed with the insult. Before Kristsi knew what was happening, he had neatly knocked her feet out from under her with the staff. She landed very ungracefully on her bum with her feet splayed in opposite directions. Kell just smiled down at her, a laugh tugging at the corner of his lips.

Kristsi looked up at Kell and felt anger boiling up in her. She fought to control it, but after days of putting up with him, she had reached her wits end. A strangled scream escaped her throat as she lunged herself at Kell, her wooden staff whirling in all directions at once. Kell's smiled faded quickly as he tried to get into a position to meet her. He was a second too late. She deftly flicked his staff from his hands, then brought her staff down soundly on the top of his head. Kell's blue eyes glazed over as he groaned and fell unconscious to the grass. Kristsi stopped her rampage and stared at his form in horror. Had she really done that? A shrill shriek rent the air.

Meredith and Zeke stopped their training when they heard Kristsi scream. When they finally got to her, they found Kristsi staring blankly at the motionless form of Kell.
