"Would you dare harm the body of the woman you hold so very deasr to your heart, wizard?"
Milton drew his sword and the two faced off. "I will have her back."
Nyx's eyes glowed an ominous yellow. "I beg to differ." She struck at him, but Milton blocked her first attack.
The clashing of the blades echoed throughout the rock formations and reverbirated about their surroundings. Perhaps if it were a fair fight, Milton would have had the upper hand, but in this battle, Nyx's strength had not merely doubled, but quadrupled.
Nyx had him backed up agaisnt one of the idle cars. Their swords clashed. Her hand reached up to stroke his hair and her face softened in expression.
"If you weren't such a pest I would keep you just for those warm lonely nights." She laughed, then.
Milton kicked her in the jaw, pushing her back from him.
Nyx wiped the blood from her lip and grined. "Ooh! You're a rough one! I like that!" She advanced and swung at him.
He blocked her. He called upon the powers of the Gangrel, the frenzy of the best within him for help. "Come to me." He commanded. The beast roared within him and gve him new life. Milton fought with the agility of the wolf and the ferocity of the Kindred frenzy. He had managed to take her sword from her.
Nyx broke one of the protruding woodnen fixtures and swung it at him, but Milton tossed it aside. He advanced towards her, his sword in hand. Ran her through, the blade ripping clean through her torso.
Nyx gasped and choked up the red liquid.
He withdrew his sword and watched her body fall to the ground. He stood over her, his sword was ready to strike the fatal blow. He would take her head.
Nyx's eyes blinked. "Millie?" She reached her hand up to him with great effort. The softness of her eyes and the tone of her voice was entirely human.
Had he expelled The Nyx?
"Millie...I'm cold. Please, please don't go..."
The stiffness of his hand eased and he got down on his knees, cradling her dying body.
This must be done.
"I have searched a thousand lifetimes for a soul like yours...a soul so true, a soul so pure. I want to lie with you forever." Her breath whispered in his ear the poem which was their vows a lifetime ago. Forever... "Vic!" he creid. "My sweet, Vic!" he pressed her dying body to his, her blood staining his garb. He stroked her back. His hands falling on the wound from his sword which was now....Gone! Milton's eyes widened.
A soft malicious chuckle rang in his ears.
Nyx rose to her feet, grabbing him by the throat. Her eyes were void of all humanity and glowed fiercely yellow. "Awww...you're such a softie." Nyx drew out a large Phosphorous gun, pressing its nuzzle against the bare skin of his chest -----------
Time stopped.
"Vic...Vic..." He returned to a time more pleasent. The honeysuckle and jasmine sented the air. Little girls wearing crowns of flowers in their hair danced gaily in a circle as the instrumentalists played their jovial melody. There was celebration and good cheer.
She was smiling up at him, caressing his cheek. The warmth of her hand against his face sent him. This moment in time, this life was perfect. 'I love you.' Her melodious voice echoed back at him from the recesses of his memory. "I love you...my sweet Vic."
Milton closed his eyes.
------- and fired.
Milton's body tore through the air and impaled itself against the broken wood fixture which ripped through him.
Nyx sauntered over to him and gently stroked his cheek. She kissed him lightly. "So much for true love."
