Dream On, Goopher Fan.

I remember a moment during the 1997 NCAA Championship game last April. Some Goopher fan was holding up a sign that read, "Oh, my, the Terriers!" I turned to a buddy of mine and said, "Ya know, we'd have kicked the Gophers' ass if only they were good enough to get here."

I wish I were going to be at the Fleet Center when the Sioux repeat as national champions. But at least I can laugh at the Goophers at this site since their season is over.

Even though the falcons of Bowling Green didn't do
much better this year, they still would have kicked the gophers ASSES.

I've never laughed so hard...

This site should get SOME type of award for not only being the most comedic, but also one of the only one's that is not afraid to tell the TRUTH!!! Badgers may have dropped 3 of 4 this year...but who's goin' to the Final Five? Not to mention the NCAA's!! I hope that those players all enjoy a nice, cold WISCONSIN-brewed Miller while watching the Badgers win their 6th Nat'l Championship!! Go BADGERS!!!!!!

Home of the Champions.

I just love it the Gophers (Cake eaters) are at home this year where they belong, we don't have to listen to, well we will be better next year, we have a great high school kid comming next year that is 5'4" that will really be a great player. How about some classi Woog whinning we got a bad draw and we deserved a better chance at a national title. Woog whines will not be part of the picture this year. We are happy that the Gophers are not there and they won't be embarassing the WCHA this year with their choking and whinning and excuses. So hey Gophers you just suck...

"Duhh--but all our guys are from Minnesota!!"

How many times have we heard this sorry bit of praise for a worthless bunch of losers? The Goofs may recruit only within MN, but that's a downfall, not a benefit. Growing up in ND and relocating to the twin cities, I've seen the in-breeding and room temp. IQ's of the locals. Why brag about a serious handicap? The most profoundly stupid resident of North Dakota could move to Minnesota and raise the average IQ of BOTH states! You have to realize that these fans are just simply too stupid to see the light and figure out that the Goofers suck, have always sucked, and will always suck. Pride on ice, my ass! I'm ashamed to admit I live in Minnesota, but I proudly bash Goofer fans and Minnesotans in general every chance I get. Learn how to drive, and get a real freakin' hockey team!!! GO SIOUX!

Dear Masters of the Obvious:

I must give credit where due. It would have seemed impossible to draw chuckles from a premise so intuitively obvious to Badger fans. However, you have succeeded mightily. I recommend that you contact the UW Alumni Association for sponsorship, though if they are fulfilling their proper role, they have contacted you already. By the way, is it true that Neal Broten owns "Brat 'n Brau"?

Poor Confused Gopher Fan(s?)

Yes, the Sioux are out. But why are there Gophers fan(s?) bragging about this? The Gophers have been out for a long time.

Next year? The Gophers do what? Come back to rule the WCHA -- just like they rebounded from last year and dominated this year? What are they gonna do, beat Alaska in Anchorage? Hold onto a 4-0 lead in the third period?

Perhaps we've forgotten what this site is about -- the Gophers SUCK!

Woog the whiner

What a wonderful web page. I'm going to have to post the address in the Star Tribune's Gopher Talk section, so the rodent fans can keep posted on the latest developments. Woog is truly the whiniest coach anywhere. At the Huskies vs. Rodents game in December, he got hit with a dead gopher on his way off the ice. At the next game, when the dead gophers were flying, the refs made the announcer say that the next gopher on the ice would result in a bench minor. Now, I wonder who whined enough to get the refs to insist on that. Of course, he probably slipped them some money in a hat, like he does to his players. Woog and his hat tricks. But, we need Woog, otherwise the Rodents wouldn't be nearly as much fun to hate. Whine on, Woog!

Look at all the attention the gopher hockey program gets!!!

Wow, another whole page dedicated to the gopher hockey team. That makes 9 that i've found. it just goes to show that, love 'em or hate 'em, they'll always overshadow all other minnesota hockey teams. And as far as 18 years w/o a championship, I'd rather watch a team of all minnesotans do well (WCHA titles, NCAA final four appearences) every year (except for this last one), than a bunch of canadian 22 year-old "freshmen" play in an arena with more advertising banners than championship banners hanging from the ceiling!! At least our boys know the words to the national anthem!!

Scott Person is a loser.

God you are stupid Scott. Your arena discription just described the Gopher Arena, I only saw what 3 title banners hanging from the rafters. And it will be long past 20 years before you hang another one from them. What is the difference a 25 year old senior goalie from Roch. Minnesota who can't stop the puck or a Goalie from the Frozen prairie of Man or Sask. I will take the Candian any day. Gopher Fans are stupid.

North Dakota Players?

I don't consider myself to be a Sioux or Gopher fan, but once the Sioux can have a championship team with 2 or 3 players that are actually from the state of North Dakota, they have something to be proud of. That hasn't happened yet. The only reason why the Sioux have done well in hockey the last few years is because of their great coach, (who by the way is from Minnesota) Dean Blais. The fact is that all of North Dakota's players are from Canada and mostly Minnesota. North Dakota H.S. hockey sucks and will never compare to Minnesota H.S. hockey. An average Minnesota team will beat the North Dakota state champs by at least 5 goals. I agree with Mean Jean, any loser who posts more than one message here has way too much time on their hands. I won't be on here anymore by the way.

P.S.- Isn't it funny how every team in the WCHA claims to have this "great rivalry" with Minnesota? If you ask the Gophers who their two main rivals are, they are Minnesota-

Finishing from above

Since the machine didn't print my whole message above, I will finish it here. What I said is that if you actually ask the Gophers who they consider their rivals, they say Minnesota-Duluth and Wisconsin. Sorry Sioux fans, but the Gopher-Sioux games are no more than just another game to the Gophers.

"The Truth" hurts, doesn't it TODD?!?!

I am bac k to respond to this piece of Gopher propaganda. Number 1, TODD wants the Sioux to win a championship with at least 2 or 3 N.D. High School players on it? Look no further than the 1997 NCAA Championship team, which had a number of N.D. players on the roster (Jay Panzer, Tim O'Connell from G.F. Central and Mitch Vig from Bismarck High). That's a total of three North Dakotans, just in case you had trouble counting them. Also, the assertion that the Sioux-Gopher games are "just ordinary to Gopher fans" is a bunch of crap. You just can't stand the fact that the Sioux win championships while the Gophers have to settle for Regular Season awards. And THAT is "The Truth". Now, get off the computer before mommy or daddy catch you.

Lets act mature now Brian.

First of all Brian, lets be mature about things. I can't tell why you made that comment to Todd at the end of your last message. In case you couldn't tell, Todd was being sarcastic when he said that North Dakota needs to have 2 or 3 players from that state before they can be proud of winning a championship. It is true that you will never find more than 2 or 3 players from North Dakota on the Sioux's roster. I am a student at the U of M and know a few of the players on the hockey team. These players confirm exactly what Todd said, as far as the Gophers are concerned their only rivals are UM-Duluth and Wisconsin. The Sioux may consider the series against Minnesota to be a rivalry, but the Gophers don't. It does seem like every team in the WCHA claims to have a great rivalry with Minnesota. It just shows how great of a tradition that Minnesota has with its hockey. Everybody wants to beat them badly no matter what team it may be. The same cannot b
