Tenebrous Kate
Kate is an art student from the New Jersey-New York area who has been
involved in the Gothic scene proper for about 6 years now. She is currently at
work on writing, illustrating, and helping to publish a magazine on horror and
dark entertainment which ought to be released in the early spring of next year.
In terms of what makes one a "Gothic role model" she thinks it requires an open-mind, lots of
originality, and a willingness to adapt to the changing circumstances of the
scene. To qoute her "this means that, like it or not, the definition of Goth has broadened to
include heavy metal and industrial bands as well as "old-school goth" music, and
I think it's important for the people who've been in the scene to work WITH this
change instead of against it. This me! and that instead of dumping hate on a person who
likes Marilyn Manson, shrug
your shoulders and make him or her listen to Joy Division for hours on end until
they SUBMIT, dammit. Or something like that.."
Well she just about it said it all for me!!!
