Although the boys share "lead singer" responsibilities, Taylor sings lead vocals on the No. 1 hit "Mmmbop".

At first the guys were called the Hanson Brothers but thought it was too corny and later changed the name to Hanson.

Taylor really loves playing music. "Being in the music business can't be about the fame or the money or any of that stuff. You have to really love it," he gushes.

Taylor recalls the first time he heard "Mmmbop" on the radio, "We were coming back from an interview and we were in a van. It was awesome!"

When they get the time for a bit of exercise, Taylor says the brothers like to rollerblade, play speed hockey and basketball.

Despite his good looks and sweet personality, Tay's the shy one of the group.

No-one was more surprised by "Mmmbop" going No.1 than Taylor. "Wow! We were happy being number 16 or being anywhere in the Top 40. We're kind of in awe of what's happened."

Taylor swears that the car he "drives" in the MMMBop Video is the same car Sandra Bullock drives in Speed 2: Cruise Control.

Taylor reckons the boys come up with ideas for songs all the time. "We were taking about the fact that nobody had ever written a song about 'weird'. It seemed strange to us. Think about how many times you say 'weird'."

Taylor is proud of their independant albums "Boomerang" (1995) and "MMMBop" (1996). "We'll keep them independent and then if we want to release them later we'll talk about that."
