The VBS Problem
Recently there has been a lot of coverage in the media of VBS Viruses like I love You.
Windows 98 was shipped with something called Windows Scripting Host, this allows people with a knowledge of the Visual Basic language to type programs in a text editing program such as Notepad.
When saved with a .vbs extension this program can be executed with out the need for large VB runtime Dll's.
As Visual Basic is an easy language to code in any one with minimal coding experience can do something as sever as deleting critical system files in a few lines of code.
The Solution
To deal with this new threat to computers Happy Dude! Software LTD have developed a program called VBScan.
VBScan scans for known VBS viruses in a suspect file and then uses IGS (Intelligent Guess Scanning) to look for suspicious word contained within the file.
As a lot of VBS viruses have similar code for mailing them selves or deleting files this program should find new VBS viruses and Variants of old ones.
Comprehensive Virus Information
VBScan comes with comprehensive information about the viruses that it scans for, this information is obtained from Symantec's Anti Virus research center, so you know it's information you can trust.
Fully Updateable
VBScan is fully updateable, like most virus scanners you can download Dat files for VBScan and instantly you can detect more VBS viruses. Currently VBScan only detects a few VBS viruses but with your help I hope
