Distant History:
Doink's psionic abilities first began revealing themselves when she was 7, a few months after she caught her older brother Mikuro (then 10,) causing his textbooks to float in his bedroom. She didn't let him know what she had seen, but Mikuro had sensed her in the room. Mikuro decided to test and see if his younger sister had any "abilities" similar to his own, by causing cabbages to float around her head, "jabbing" her psionically, etc. As Mikuro grew older, he took a less tormenting approach to helping Doink along with her abilities, and began to train her in earnest.
At the age of 15, Doink's parents decided to move to Nagoya. At this time, Mikuro was preparing to enter university, and chose to stay in Tokyo. Doink was insistent on staying with him, wanting to stay together so they could work on psionics (and for Doink, because Mikuro is the member of the family she feels closest to). Doink's younger brother, Yakushimaru, decided to go with her parents for a change of pace.
Recent History:
After the "Seraphim" incident, Doink, feeling both disgusted and frusterated with her current travelling companions, set out for a change of scenery and a new period of training. Recognizing that her own methods of handling a situation required her to be far stronger than an opponent, she applied for University in Kyoto so that she could try and study at some of the older temples there. (Doink has a somewhat buried anger at herself for not having been proficient enough in the mystic arts to have stopped the possessions of the children herself, which she believes would have saved a lot of blood shed.) Although a year too soon to graduate, Kyoto accepted her based on her academic merit and excellent track record. Upon arriving in Kyoto, she started working at a cafe to help pay the rent and ensure that she would not be a financial burden to Mikuro and her parents and younger brother, Yakushimaru, in Nagoya. Mikuro has remained in Tokyo.
The last few "adventures" with her friends have left Doink with a few realizations about herself. In particular, Doink has a strong urge to protect Third and get him/her away from Ranith's "association", but feels she lacks the power to do so, which only serves to anger her more.
Currently, Doink is considering dropping out of school all together in order to further pursue her studies. She does not necessarily wish to leave school, however she feels the situation has forced it upon her - if she does not become stronger soon, there is no telling what may happen that she will fail to prevent. Her immediate goals are to learn the banishment techniques in the mystic arts, to obtain a larger energy base, and to become physically stronger, since HP is her principle weakness at this time.
Doink writes to Reion on a regular basis, avoiding both text on her (non-conventional) studies and psionic communication between the two. Although she knows she's hardly "hidden from the world", she's doing her best to vanish off the blatant radar, at least for awhile.
In her mid-long term goals, Doink is seeking a way to learn more about what's going on in the various organizations on Earth that have some deal of influence. However, she does not wish to become associated with any one in particular, but still is hesitant to use her psionics to glean what she needs to know from the minds of others. Hence, a certain encounter one day on the streets left Doink curious... (**Ahahaha... I've got this mostly worked out, but I'm writing it in fic style, and must talk it over with the almight GM-sama first. ;)
Doink keeps a watchful "eye" on her old friends at all times, so that if something comes up she has the option, in her mind at least, of meeting them. She currently does this by a hidden psionic link to Omero, which allows her to sense distress on his part and see through his eyes when she chooses.
Miscellaneous:
Doink signs all her letters "D", in true Mikuro fashion.
Doink pretends to curse Mikuro for her nickname every so often, but she's actually rather attached to it. ^_^
The energy balls going "Doink", however, really does annoy her. At least her ofuda don't.
Doink is currently employed at the Rainforest Café in Kyoto. Their specialty is Jungle Java.
Doink recently spent a point getting rid of her attack restriction on friends & family. If this is a good thing, I don't know.
Recent changes to Doink's character: A steady accumulation of more black clothing. She's not a goth yet. Overall, Doink's going through a very unsteady period, unsure of who she wants/needs to be. The decision she's come to is to become stronger so she can do what she feels must be done - instead of being the light-hearted psionic, she's increasingly debating internally the need to sacrifice of herself to "get the job done". At the same time, she's struggling to become powerful enough to not need to kill, which is leading her to a fear of what she will choose to do if she isn't powerful enough to win a fight without killing but still has to win.
