The Web of Worlds is a pathway,
my son, linking worlds so diverse as to be beyond any conceived in your
most fevered dreams... So enter the pathway to the web of worlds, my son.
But mind ye your step, for just as surely as these worlds hold treasures
beyond imagining, so do they hold terrors beyond imagining... This page was a project I envisioned long ago, a series
of descriptions and links that discuss strange world variants that you
can use to spice up a campaign. Like so many other projects that I have
initiated, it has sat on the back burner since I got a real job. All I
currently have on this page is my widely acclaimed article on using tesseracts
in a RPG campaign. Other items that may appear in the future are discussion
notes from world design efforts I have participated in on the WebRPG fantasy
world design forum and the World Dev mailing list, including my personal
favorite, the Victorian-Pulpish Lost World.
Tesseracts:
You may have heard the term "tesseract"
bandied about in some RPG circles as possible annoyances or traps that
the GM might inflict on the players. Now you can read my article on tesseracts
to learn what in the devil they are, and how you can use these interesting
constructs in a campaign world. Go there now!
