The Rush
By Heather aka goddess (me)
Up, up farther you go
heart races faster, through you it flows
The feelings you feel stronger will grow
With vitality produced, energy will flow
Hormones flowing through your brain
At moments you'll fall, crashing down like rain
The rush that you feel puts you on top
The down that occurs, a humongous drop
Can you handle the emotions that flow
Up and down, to and fro
The commitments been made, or maybe not
Sometimes the high begins to rot
It fade away, then comes back to be
Is it worth the risk to try and see
Will love vanish away, blown in the wind
Someday I'll find out, just round the bend

Outside the Walls
BY Heather aka goddess(me)
Across the world born to be
Wartorn country made to flee
came to a country, where safety abides
The country where war has been blocked outside
Outside the walls, the world keeps in turn
Ignorant are we, refusing to learn
Only accepting the safety we see, totally retreating from cold reality
those who have come can never forget
The hurt, the pain, the war, the regret
They appreciate the walls that were built
That some take for granted, feeling no guilt
Someday, maybe we'll appreciate the fact
If somehow, someway, that wall would crack
Maybe we'd think more of that dome
If something threatened our safety and homes
If a country would form stronger then we
We'd suddenly remember how it felt to be free
One day a year we celebrate our rights
But still some forget, only seeing the lights
Forgetting the reason those fireworks bring
Ignoring the song of independance that they sing
Hopefully the children that are yet to be born
Will learn that this country was once also torn
Men fought for years for the rights that were won
Defending our freedom until the fighting was done
Hopefully our independance will always ring high
Forever the bell of freedom will cry!
