Television and other media are full of advocates for the deceiver's agenda. In movie after movie, from sitcom to music to cartoons, the deceiver attacks Christianity at an unprecedented rate.
Priests are portrayed as lustful, angry, confused fools; violence is like candy to a sweet-toothed society; morals are considered passè and morality is shown as something only weak people bother with; music captivates people while filling them with all manner of vice and sin.
These days, it's considered cool to be bad. It's a shame to see so many people being deceived by the vile and corrupt lies of the enemy; it's truly sad to know that so many people willingly give themselves to that which they fail to (or refuse to) understand.
In the past few decades, I've seen many changes. Subtle at first, the changes are becoming more evident. Even non-believers didn't stray across that special line of moral decency; those who did were quickly cast aside. Now, shows portray all manner of moral violations.
This year, more than any other, Christians have been attacked in record fashion. A recent attack, perhaps the more blatant, in-your-face attack to date, has taken the attack to a fine art.
The devil knows his time is short, so in his typical "I can still win" style of denial he has given himself directly to the efforts of the visual media in the form of a movie. That movie, "Devil's Advocate", seeks to glamorize his existence and agenda without -- and here's the worst of it -- without even bothering to hide the sick ugliness of himself. (Why hide? Society openly embraces him. He's just "one of the boys".)
If I may be so bold, I see satan-worshipping growing to new extremes not long after the masses see this new movie. While it would be easy to point to this movie as the reason behind that expansion of wrong-way worship, it is only the latest in a long volly of evil begun centuries back.
It bagan slowly, as a gnat taking swipes at people. Then one by one, while the Church slept in ignorance, atrophy, complacency and fear, the pillars of Christianity were knocked out from under society and replaced by lies -- placing sand where once rock stood. (And when the storms hit, rather than rebuilding on rock, they bring in more sand.)
I hear Christians complain all the time about the present state of affairs, but they have no one but themselves...we have no one but ourselves...to blame. We let it happen. We stood idly by, watching the thief at work, and said nothing all along. We can not blame television nor other media. They merely echo the symptoms of an illness, but the illness itself lies squarely with us, Christians, Believers.
Guess what, people, we have heard the crowing all along!! We denied HIM, The Lord, with complacency. We denied HIM by ignorant disobedience. So ok, we have made the three denials. The cock has crowed. That is all water under the bridge. Crying over that spilt milk is to avoid the job of cleaning up the mess. Time to stop being willingly blind to obvious facts. Time to stop being silent. Time to stop the advocates of the devil -- not by attacking them, but by praying for them and all those whom they may influence. We can hate the sin, but we must, must, MUST LOVE the sinner -- we were there ourselves -- for they know not what they do.
God needs advocates, people willing to lean COMPLETELY ON HIM (leaning on the Promises of God won't break them.) God needs YOU!! Are you willing to break the silence? Are you willing to do His Will? He's been there for you so often, for so long. Are you willing to be there for Him? Satan works a million harms through his many advocates -- and that includes silent Christians -- wreaking havoc on lives all the time, non-stop, without rest. Are you willing to be an obedient servant/soldier for The Lord, wearing well and daily the FULL ARMOR OF GOD (Ephesians chapter 6)? Are you willing to be God's Advocates?
