And with interest running so hight, it was only a matter of time before Hollywood toke notice. In fact, to help facilitate things, Top Cow even took out a full page ad in the film industry magazine Variety announcing the stunning success of Fathom's first issue, and it seems to have paid off.
Since then, inconfirmed reports have revealed that Fox Feature Animation is about to annouce Fathom as an upcoming animated feature. Fox plans on producing the film at a Japanese studio in order to provide the underwater advanture with cutting-edge animation with plentiful computer effects, Top Cow will apparently act as a producer on the film, providing storyboards, matte paintings and character designs.
Since no official announcement has been made as of press time, the parties involved refuse to discuss the project. 20th Century Fox maintains an official "no comment" policy and refuses to speculate on any projects that are in development on the studio, let alone on unconfirmed rumors.
In turn, Top Cow's Foxhoven was unable to confirm or deny the news of the deal, but hinted that there's definitly been some Holywood interest.
