REDIFFUSION SINGAPORE! - REQUEST TIME!
Yes, that's a familiar tune you'll hear back in the 60's and 70's over the Silver Network of Rediffusion Singapore.
Here, you'll find out all you want to know about Rediffusion Singapore, be it the English Silver Network or the Chinese Golden Network.
You can also take a look at those who really made Rediffusion ticked in those good old days, people like Mike Ellery, Joseph (Joe) Goh,
Eric Lim, Larry Lai and not forgetting, of course, Peggy Rosss and Roger Kool. Once I was down at Metro Golden Mile in Beach Road
admiring them performing a "live" broadcast from the satelite studio (that show was called "The Metro Hour").
I even took part in the contest quiz which won me a hamper of talc powder and toiletries from the DJ of that day, Eric Lim.
I can still remember he dedicated the song "Everything Is Beautiful" sung by Ray Stevens to me.
Those days, my favourite programmes on Rediffusion were "Tic Toc Request" hosted by Peggy Ross and "Musical Milestone" hosted by Eric Lim,
who pronounced "Ang Mo Kio" as "Ang Mo Kiao" at that time. Take a stroll down memory lane in this site and maybe you'll meet some old friends here! You'll never regret it!
hosted by veteran Larry Lai, DJ since 15th Feb 1960, taking over the reins
from Tony Orchez, on weekdays from Mondays through Fridays from 9 pm to the wee-hours of 1 am, playing all your favourite oldies,
from the 50's, 60's and 70's, with game shows and quizes.
From a Jack......(TONY ORCHEZ)
To a King (LARRY LAI)
