We Give Thanks

Thank you for the world so sweet,
Thank you for the food we eat,
Thank you for the birds that sing,
Thank you God for everything.

Here in America, we celebrate Thanksgiving Day to commemorate the Pilgrims rescue from starvation. The local Native Americans took pity on the new settlers and extended the hand of friendship by providing them with native foods and the knowledge of how to prepare them. The Pilgrims thanked God for this and for their new-found "friends". A friendship that was tenuous at best and, unfortunately, was not to last.

These days, we celebrate Thanksgiving with parades, celebrations and feasts. But how many of us remember to attend church, to bow our heads in prayer and truly thank God for all we have?
To take the time to kneel in prayer with our friends and loved ones?

Every day should be a day of Thanksgiving. "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad" should be on our lips always.
We must thank God for all things, for even the simplest of things. What do we have to be thankful for? Some people have so little. But there is always something to be thankful for.

Be thankful that you woke up in the morning! No one knows when God will call him home.

Be thankful that the sun came up!

Be thankful for anyone who has given you a kind word or shown you kindness in some way.

Be thankful for friends and family.

Be thankful for the food you share with them, even if it isn't exactly a feast.

Be thankful for our merciful God who loves us all!

So, on this Thanksgiving Day, remember to thank the One responsible for it all, for your Blessings. We are all blessed!!!!

HAVE A HAPPY AND BLESSED THANKSGIVING!!!!
