Hanson told a press conference in Seattle on Tuesday that the band will be releasing a live CD and concert video before Christmas. The bulk of the footage for the video was shot at the band's concert at the Key Arena in Seattle last night. A spokesperson for Mercury, the band's label, confirmed that the taping took place but could not confirm a release date.
The project's producer is Elliot Shiner who has previously produced much-heralded live records for John Fogerty, Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles.
Zac, Isaac and Taylor told the fans and media that Seattle was chosen largely because it was an indoor venue and thus offered a controlled environment, and also because the city had originally been the last stop on the tour. The live dates have since been extended to mid-August.
Following the conference and an online chat, Hanson rose to the occasion for the live taping -- as did the audience. The energetic show was widely reviewed as one of the boys' better efforts, and the fans were suitably manic.
The opening act on the Hanson tour is Admiral Twin, a band previously known as the Mellowdramatic Wallflowers. The pop band, who also hail from the Hanson hometown of Tulsa, have an independent CD on the market, but they were largely known to the Hanson fans because bandmember Jarrod Gollihare wrote the band's official biography.
