Lucid: a chronological bio

1995

-February- Jordan (b. Nov. 10, 1982) receives first guitar, a Charvel electric with a Fender amplifier. He takes lessons from several instructors in Owensboro.

-April- Jordan meets Andy Hill (bass) at school and they decide to form a band. They need a drummer so they talk with fellow student Jake Hill and finally persuade him to drum for them.

-May- The trio decides on the name Nuclear Fusion. The lineup now includes Jordan on lead guitar and vocals, Andy on guitar, Jake on bass, and they acquire Eric Crago (b. Dec. 14,1982) on drums after convincing him not to be manager.

-June- August- Few practices take place at Jake's house. With no drums or hardly any equipment, Andy quits and they change their name to Hypertension 27. They practice on some Green Day songs as well as some Creedence Clearwater Revival plus a couple of their own.

-Sept.-Dec.- Name changes to Hinge. Later, Jordan and Eric kick Jake out of the band. Name again changes to Bluestitch. The remaining duo consists of Jordan on lead guitar and Eric drumming and singing.


-1996-

-January-February- As a duo, Jordan and Eric practice constantly after school and on weekends. They are also a part of the Burns Middle School Jazz Band with Eric on drums and Jordan on guitar.

-March- With a newly written song by Jordan, "Guilty sin" is recorded at the Crago's house along with their version of "Twist & Shout" by the Beatles. Eric's dad, Rick, takes the demo to radio station WBKR to have it mixed.

-April-May- Practices continue. Once in a while, Andy comes over to play bass on some songs.

-June-August- Name changes to The Representatives and Andy once again joins full time to make a trio again.

-September-December- All three are in the 8th grade at BMS. Practices still continue. Several fights occur between Eric and Jordan. They decide to take a break from each other for a while.


-1997-

-January- The new year promises new changes as well as maturity. Eric has bought a new guitar and Jordan decides to drum on some songs giving Eric a chance to play guitar.

-February- Realizing they need more in the band than just two people, Eric and Jordan recruit fellow student John Fulton (b. Feb. 8, 1983) to play guitar. With this addition, a variety of new songs became introduced to everyone. With Eric and John both on guitar and Jordan on bass, they needed a drummer. Eric overhears a sixth-grader playing in the BMS band room on the drumset there and mentions his name to Jordan. Aaron Sollman (b. Nov. 26, 1984) becomes the new drummer for the band.

-March- Practices continue with a variety of music being played from Nirvana to the Beatles, CCR to U2, and somes blues. Name changes to Lucid.

-April- They go into Owensboro studio to record "About a Girl" by Nirvana and "One" by U2. Joel Osborne produces and mixes the demo as a favor for Rick Crago.

-May- Eric enters the BMS talent show with a drum solo and there is a tie with him and a pianist for 1st place.

-June- More practices take place at Eric's house. Aaron breaks his finger and will not be able to drum for a while now.

-July- Practices continue at Jordan's and Eric's house. (check back for updated news)
