Village Volunteers – Clerk reported on recent work – some materials supplied by CBC

Resolved:

34825/3 – 86 Portree Drive – Extensions – Concern that overall the extensions are too large and out of keeping with adjoining properties

34843/3 – 98 Chester Road – Extension – No objection

34844/3 – 7 Gawsworth Close – Extension – No objection

34847/3 – Swan Inn – Alterations to front and access - No objection

6. Minibus Association

Clerk reported assoc. had asked for further short term loan to cover VAT recovery period. Anticipated requirement £7,500 in October 2002. To be referred to next Finance with recommendation for approval

Clerk would now arrange inspection of equipment

8. Garden competition

JB and Clerk reported on judges decisions and arrangements for presentations

9. Dog litter bins

Agreed request be made for bins at entrance to Elm Drive play area and access points to Dane Valley from Bramhall Drive in locations where they can be emptied properly

10. Burial arrangements / meeting with Cranage PC

Clerk reported that he had suggested PCC and Cranage Parish Council attend next committee meeting on 10-10-02

11. Skateboarding

Clerk reported CBC had asked Council to make enquiries about suggested sites. Agreed IMM be asked to approach HC Primary School

12. Letter from Philip Van Schijndel

Committee considered in detail comments from PVS of CBC on site inspection report and other recreation issues. Agreed in general comments be accepted subject to:

  1. Council proceed with sign on Middlewich Road playing field independently of possible skateboarding arrangements
  2. Attention required on Elm Drive play area to steps to climbing frame, front guard to baby swing and broken glass
  3. Clerk answer queries on Dane Valley and report paths blocked by nettles, long grass, etc
  4. Clerk press for progress on Cranage playing pitches for next meeting (Noted quantity surveyor now instructed)
  5. Clerk arrange repair of Civic Pride plaque

13. Next meeting

Clerk reported on further problem with dates for next Finance Committee and full Council. Agreed he should endeavour to make arrangements for both meetings for Wed. 18-09-02
