  3. Lawrence Massey
  4. The Chairman reported the sad death of Lawrence Massey on Wednesday 9 April 2003. He was a former member of the Parish Council and had been involved in many areas of village life. At the Chairman’s request those present stood in silence in his memory

  5. Minutes
  6. The minutes of the 2002 Annual Parish Meeting were read approved and signed as an accurate record.

  7. Financial Report
  8. The Clerk presented a brief report on the Council’s finances.

  9. Chairman’s Report
  10. The Chairman read a report on the last Council year and items for the future.

  11. "Village Volunteers"
  12. Mr John Clowes thanked all organisations and individuals who had helped, with particular mention of a donation from the Community Trust; he outlined areas for consideration: new contacts with CBC following the retirement of Philip Von Schijndel; a scheme for the area around the toilets; maintenance of the area around the car park in front of Mc Carthy & Stone site; the path in front of the library

  13. Police
  14. PC Dave Newton gave a brief report on recent issues including drug problems at the Comprehensive School, anti-social behaviour, the raid at Nat West Bank, action on parking problems

  15. Questions and comments

The Chairman opened the meeting for questions and comments and the following issues were raised:

Copies of bus service timetables and contact details for the Police Community Action team were available

The formal business ended at 8.40 p.m.

Wine and cheese were served to allow informal discussions to take place
