RCP indicated that he would not take part in discussion about planning applications because of his membership of CBC Planning Committee

4. Matters arising

  1. Civic Service – Chairman thanked members for their support
  2. Local Plan Review – Clerk confirmed written statement had been submitted on transportation issues
  3. Area Committee 3 – Next meeting would be 23-07-02 when Peter Cooper of CBC would address meeting regarding committee’s future
  4. Custody Suites – Clerk reported response from new Police Superintendent who still did not have any relevant information
  5. Cranage Playing Pitches – Agreed Clerk should suggest a meeting with Cranage Parish Council to discuss lack of progress
  6. Golden Jubilee – Chairman had presented mugs to children at Primary Schools; Village Volunteers would plant tree at Sutton Oaks; agreed other trees, particularly with golden leaves, would be appreciated
  7. Gas plant – DRP had attended first group meeting; further meeting with Dr Le-Las to discuss costs had been cancelled. Further discussion on financial issues would have to wait for this meeting to take place
  8. Site visits report – Clerk had circulated report to CBC officers but no response so far. TJH and RCP had taken Peter Cooper round some areas of village. It was considered that this was a good exercise which should be repeated in future years
  9. Middlewich Road Playing Field – Bob Hardiker had produced draft sign for use at entrance to play area; Sue Tarplee and Philip Van Schijndel to attend next A&P meeting to discuss skateboarding
  10. Village Centre improvements – Agreed IMM RCP and DRP should meet Harry Hopkinson and Derek Sewell of CBC on 24-07-02 with authority to make decisions within budget
  11. Internal Auditor – Agreed ACR and Clerk should discuss this matter with Mrs Maureen Jones who was willing to act
  12. Code of Conduct – Resolved Council approve Finance Committee recommendations

  1. Letter received re industrial action on 17-07-02; agreed Clerk enquire whether "At Home" would proceed on that date

  3. Revenue grant under consideration but increases likely to go to Metropolitan Councils

In absence of KO, RCP reported reorganisation in Education Dept. which meant Education and Community Services back together

    34636/3 – 5 Lingmell Gardens – conservatory - no objection

  3. TJH and Clerk reported on application to VRBC re extension to agricultural building on Brereton Lane Sproston and concern about future use. They agreed to monitor and report back

  1. HC Primary School – IMM produced copy of annual report for circulation
  2. Hermitage School – PJG reported on building work and need for co-opted governors

DRP reported on last meeting of Trustees when main discussion had been on tenancy issues.

 
     

15. Association of Parish Councils

JR had reported on last area meeting

 
     

16. Twinning Association

Chairman reported on recent Jubilee Barbeque and on visit of French choir in October when hosts would be required

JR had reported on last Police Forum meeting

 
     

18. General correspondence

  1. Minutes – Clerk reported on critical letter in Knutsford Guardian re availability of Council minutes. Concern expressed about false reports on village web site. Resolved: Clerk should not reply because no address supplied and writer not known; ACR and Clerk should prepare brief statement to go in Information Centre and on Council web site

  1. Chairman reported on her attendance at a Buckingham Palace Garden Party; she would be attending a further garden party at Macclesfield on 24-07-02, being the Queen’s official jubilee visit to Cheshire
