4. Matters arising |
- Skateboarding – Disappointing progress because of lack of activity from CBC but TJH intervention had resulted in action from from newly involved officer. Police have secured some funding
- Cranage Playing Pitches – Tenders received for access and car park to be considered by CBC; two figures in budget to cover phase 2 and river crossing but not certain both these figures would remain; CBC had discussed land for river crossing with owner and made reasonable progress. Resolved land purchase figures be discussed as private and confidential business
- Kinderton – Waiting for Glyn Chambers to report back. Agreed Clerk approach Middlewich TC re co-operation
- Regional Government – Recommendations of Finance Committee noted and agreed
- Best Kept Village Competition – Recommendation of A&P that Council not enter this year noted and agreed
- Byley – Clerk had circulated correspondence with Chief Exec. of CCC
Resolved recommendation of Finance Committee to contribute a further £2,000 be agreed
- Village Centre improvements – Clerk to try and arrange meeting date of 25-02-03
- Street sweeping and skips – YDM had circulated note about discussions with CBC officers – concern that they had not acted on proposed actions. Also YDM had attended Best Value Meeting to discuss performance of Direct Services Dept. Resolved report be accepted as private & confidential business
- Precinct – Repair work carried out 01-02-03 – agreed it needed further observation
- Motorway widening – Noted that Parish Councils locally had not attended forum which meets in Stafford recentlty. Clerk had asked Assoc. of Parish Councils to canvass opinion locally. Agreed Clerk ask CBC to confirm their up to date policy on widening
- Parking – Police say they will make checks – they have had a recent campaign in Alsager
- Library – Alan Bell of Libraries Department to attend Council meeting on 27-03-03; items agreed for discussion

- "At Home" - Clerk reported on last meeting – in particular presentation by Head of Planning on delegation of powers – government target of 95%. Head had suggested seminar for Parish Councils – agreed this would be worth attendance for members and Clerk
- Meeting Dates - Clerk reported on discussion at meeting about calendars and attempts to avoid clashes between CBC and Parish Councils. New CBC calendar suggested present pattern of meetings should continue – agreed Clerk prepare programme for consideration highlighting any clashes
- Budgets - CBC members reported on progress of budget process which would be completed on 20-02-03

- Planning decisions – Members mentioned some applications causing concern – e.g. extension to property on corner of Balmoral Drive and Dornoch Court and agreed these could be raised at seminar
