4. Police

Supt. Tim Jackson, Chief Inspector of Northwich attended meeting and commented on the following:

·        new HQ and likely improvement of communications

·        visibility of policing

·        use of Community Action Teams

·        still need to monitor results

·        custody suites (main issue as to whether there would be a site large enough in HC)

·        school crossing patrol – new appointment made subject to references and health check

·        main task of traffic police to reduce accidents due to speed

 

 

 

 

5. Planning applications

35036/3 - HC Community Pre-School – renewal of temporary consent – no objection

Committee considered present position – noted further discussion and information on costs required

 

 

 

 

7. Meeting with John Gray

Committee reviewed discussion at last meeting and notes prepared by Clerk.  Information awaited from Janet Mills about “Safer routes to schools”.  Agreed this be considered further at next meeting

1.      Planning application for aerials at Fire Station – Appeal had been dismissed mainly on ground of visibility from Conservation Area

2.      Red Lion – No further action being taken on signs because some had been removed and remainder were authorised

3.      Skateboarding – Meeting with Youth Forum on 31-10-02

4.      Car Parking – Progress report from David Dingle of CBC

5.      Association of Parish Councils – AGM 229-10-02
