Jane C. Odineal was born Jan, 12, 1828 in Franklin Co., VA. On Dec 4, 1848 she married Mark Alexander Newbill
(born Jan. 29, 1822), son of Nathaniel Parker Newbill and Hope Ann Sutherland Newbill. Jane died Nov. 14, 1872 and
Mark Aug. 18, 1891 both inFranklin Co., VA. Mark was a farmer and Jane kept house and raised the children. To this union there were three children born.

    Virginia (Jenny) Newbill was born near Penhook, Franklin Co., VA and married William Bernard Sr. They had six children

    Sydney married Nannie McCULLOCH

    John married Lena and they had one child.

    John was born July 8, 1917 and married Florine Meredith PETERS. John died Jan. 2, 1988 in Bedford, VA. They had three children.

    Frank married Marjorie and they had one child.

    Charolette married Douglas Pleasnts Magann Sr. and they had two children.

    Nothing more is know at this time about William Jr.

    Ethel married a man by the name of Caviness but nothing more is know at this time about them.

    Nothing more is know at this time about Susie.

    Thomas Parker Newbill born June 12, 1851 married Mary Rachel (Molly) CHILDRESS Newbill 25 April 1878. Mary was born Jan. 27, 1857. The following is from the Society of the Newbill Descendants. As the only son he was spoiled by his mother and doting sisters. All his life he expected to be waited on hand & foot. Even after marriage his wife would layout his clothes and tie his shoes. They were married at the bride's home at Taylor's Store, Franklin Co., VA. This is now incorprated into the postal area of Wirtz, VA. Thomas is believed to have lived in the house his grandfather built. Thomas died Sept. 8, 1926 and Mary Nov. 25, 1941, both in Franklin Co., VA. Thomas was a (farmer?) and Mary a homemaker and mother to their nine children.

    Annie was born Feb. 3, 1879 in Penhook, Franklin Co., VA. She married Randolph Hubert (Hub) Chitwood. Annie died Nov. 24, 1954 at Pembrook, Giles Co., VA.

    Harry was born Aug. 22, 1880 in Penhook, Franklin Co., VA. He married Elizabeth STUART. Harry died Jan. 5, 1959 in Oklahoma City, OK They had one child.

    Marcia married F. E. Fender Jr.

    Margaret was born Dec. 19, 1882 in Penhook, Franklin Co., VA. She married James Edmond Fulton Nelson before 1914. James died Dec. 3, 1942 and Margaret July 23, 1955, both in Bluefield, WV. They are both buried at Monte Vista Park Cemetery, Bluefield, WVJames was a dentist and Margaret a homemaker and mother to their two children.

    Margaret was born Aug. 12, 1914 in Bluefield, WV and married Richard Bailey before 1935. Margaret died Mar. 14, 1974 and Richard June 18, 1979. They are both buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Bluefield, WV. Richard was an attorney and Margaret a homemaker and mother to their four children.

    James was born Jan. 25, 1920 in Bluefield, WV and married Katharine Kinnear ROSS Dec. 30, 1948. He was a Dentist and LTC. U S Army (ret). Katherine was a portrait artist. They had two children.

    James was born Oct. 29, 1885 in Penhook, Franklin Co., VA. He married Mary Lydia NINIGER in Botetourt Co., VA before 1924. They had two children.

    James was born before 1925 and died in infancy. Place of burial unknown.

    Jack was born Oct. 29, 1925 in Oklahoma City, OK. He married Betty Ann MOORE, born in Logan, WV, May 5, 1951 in Roanoke, VA. They had one child.

    Olivia was born Feb. 4, 1887 in Penhook, Franklin Co., VA. She died Nov. 3, 1970 in Franklin Co., VA. She was a mathematics teacher and never married.

    Josephine was born Mar. 29, 1890 in Penhook, Franklin Co., VA. She married Raymond Sanders April 25, 1915 in Bluefield, WV. Ray died April 19, 1944 at Jessup, Anne Arundel Co., MD and Josephine died May 29, 1980 at Mt Zion Hospital, San Francisco, CA. They had one daughter.

    Eugene was born Feb. 3, 1892 in Penhook, Franklin Co., VA. He served in WW I and never married. He died Feb. 14, 1976 in Wirtz, VA.

    Thomas was born Oct. 11, 1894 in Penhook, Franklin Co., VA. He also served in WW I. In 1927 he married Anne Tatum FERGUSON. Thomas died Oct. 18, 1975 in Rocky Mount, VA. There is no record of when Anne died or where they are buried. They had two children.

    Daniel was born Feb.1 4, 1898 in Penhook, Franklin Co., VA. He married Julia Elizabeth PRICE Sept. 10, 1929 at the bride's home, Taylor's Store, Franklin Co., VA. Daniel died Sept. 30, 1986 in Franklin Co., VA and is buried in the Newbill Cemetery on Rt 122 in Franklin Co., VA. There is no record of Julia's death. They had seven children

    Martha T. (Nellie) Newbill was born in Franklin Co., VA married Peter (Pete) Dudley and they had six children.

    Lake (Lala) married John Reese Hutcherson, they had two children.

    Dudley marrid Annette and they had two children.

    Frances married Thomas W. Lipford.

    Mary married Joseph McNutt, nothing more is know of them at this time.

    Janie married George W. Lazenby, nothing more is know of them at this time.

    Nothing is know of Eva at this time.

    Claude married Helen ??, nothing more is know of them at this time.

    Irving was born Dec. 2, 1890 at Union Hall, Franklin Co., VA. He married Edith WARD Sept. 3, 1915 in Bluefield, WV. Irving died Jan. 17, 1962 in Logan, WV and it is not known when Edith died. They had two sons. Irvin Ward died at 14 years of age and Jack Saunders was killed in WW II.
