Hey everyone!! and WELCOME to yet another EXCLUSIVE page of pics!!! This one deals with the ery first RAW IS WAR held outside of the Unied States. It was held here in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada (the east coast) on July 27, 1997. (Shawn Michaels Birthday and grand re-appearance into the federation after being off for a few months) I was there, yes, but for the first time in 4 years had less than front row seats!! We were sitting in 8th row (OH THAT EXPLAINS IT!!!;-D) and we generally buried behind the sea of signs. As you will see and hear, the WWF staffers, especially Vince McMahon were NOT prepared for us, or our reactions. Maybe THATS why they havent been back too often and hired LOTS more security!! LOL!! This RAW was so memorable, that parts of our show were seen during the A&E History of Professional wrestling show!! We have also been clipped for Bret Hart's Wrestling with shadows documentary and a couple other news show clips like hard copy and such. We were one of the FIRST crowds to have pretty explicit signs--one they never showed was atleast 10 people long and said "Rape me Chyna" LOL!! It was also the first and last time Brian Pillman was in town. THAT WAS COOL!!! We half booed Steve Austin, and we were the FIRST CROWD to call Shawn Michaels a faggot. Once we started it, well, you'll see adn hear his reaction--he was NOT impressed---kinda of a NASTY birthday present eh SHawn? and we started the whole trend for that after! (What can I say? we Maritimers are COOL! LOLOL!) I did not take pics from all of the matches, that would have been too much, but i did get some pics of the arena and surrounding area for you guys to see if you wanted. pretty hokey actually! And I didnt get this audio clip, but ust have to tell ya Jerry Lawler's impression of Halifax......(we have a 15% tax on EVERYTHING you buy up here from hotel rooms, to beer, to cars, to fast food, to toothbrushes) Lawler said, "They BETTER have FREE medicare up here, they charge an arm and a leg in sales tax!!" ROFL!! BUT JERRY!! Hun, you get an echange rate of (at the time) $1.35 - $1.40!! (and now over $1.50 canadian for you american dollar!!) SO STOP COMPLAINING!! we pay it ALL THE FREAKING TIME!!!!! The main event was the FLAG MATCH---more on that in that section...was surprising to say the least!!! Near the end of the interview and he has pretty much lost his voice--we were SOOO LOUD!!!: Heel heat to the MAX!! after he got his composure about this chant, he looked around and said "you should all ask your momma's wheher or not I am!" Bret snapped and took at Vince. Vince fought back: This is the thing that has been getting all of the attention adn been put in the various documentaries--the start of when Vince and Bret were deciding to split--nasty stuff The CROWD goes after Vince!! Complete mob mentality at this point the crowd gets into it BIGTIME!!: The pic is blurry cause the cameraman got knocked on his ass by the fans going for Vince! Okay, now comes the main event! Up until bell time, we had no idea who was goign to participate for the US side---it was suppossed to me Mankind, Shawn Michaels and the Patriot, but Patriot was hurt earlier in the night and Shawn was "attacked" and couldnt fight, so Steve Austin came out and said he'd take one of the spots and fight for old glory, but that meant they were still one person short in a 6-man tag match. The Canadian team was the hart foundation--Bret, Owen and Bulldog. Winner of the match was the first ones who got to their countries flag ---this was also the night where the US vs Canada rivalry got blown out of proportion adn Bret said americans were a toilet bowl--he made no sense then and still doenst now!!!! So about 10 mins into the match-after the first commercial, Taker walked down and at first was pretty good-into it, then he started going all WEIRD!! he started missing his marks (missing tag opportunities) and started walkgin around the apron (normally he never moves) and was just staring off into the crowd not even paying attention in teh LEAST to the action and i have the pics to prove it!! but, we weren't the only ones to notice this off night---I have some friends who were watching this on TV in the states who were training to be wrestlers at the time who said the exact same thing! he was off his mark, not paying attention adn generally shouldn't have been out there cause he did nothing for the match!!--not entirely true...as the match progressed and he did get back into the ring to fight, he was MUCH MORE AGRESSIVE!!! he knocked Brets block off a couple of times! (YAAAY) At the end of the Raw show, they taped a couple of matches for Shotgun...One was Taker vs. Vader--i think it was a 30 second match. Vader came out first. Taker didnt even go through the rigmorall of coat and stuff....he jsut marched down to the ring...no coat, totally pissed off look on his face, wailed away on vader for only a few seconds. tombstoned him, won the match in a sneeze and stormed back out! they didnt even USE the match it was so short adn pathetic...so OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING had his knickers tied up in knots by the end of the night!! it was BAAAAAD!!! "UGH!"UT goes up for the flag It was a GREAT night! I found the cameras and titantron rather distracting to tell the truth!!! And the SIGNS were AWFUL!! couldnt see half the time unless you were up onyour chair adn that kinda pised me off...threatened one guy up aheadof me cause he lost all sensation and blood in his arms he held the damn thing up so much and so long! Anyways, I just had to share the Raw experience since it seemed to be so memorable for the WWF and for Vince. He made reference to our raw and our crowd for a few weeks afterwards and i think that was the start of the getting a boyguard for him and the guys--I honestly do!! so you can thanks me later Jim for getting you the job! ROFLMAO!!!
