The international tourists arriving in India at any of the four entry points, viz.-New Delhi,Mumbai,Calcutta,Chennai, do not have much of a problem in reaching the destination, Puri, as it is well connected with the rest of the country by air and rail connections.

AIR TRAVEL

Puri-the site of BNR Hotel- has no airport but is only 65kms. from Bhubaneswar by road and 72kms. by rail. Bhubaneswar is very well connected by regular flights from various tourist destinations like New Delhi, Calcutta, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai. Bookings are a simple matter as traffic on these routes is not very high and same week tickets are generally available(lest the Hotel compel you to extend your stay at Puri indefinitely!).

TRAINS

Since you are going to be a guest at a railway hotel we wish you to set your heart on a railway journey too. Puri on South Eastern Railway has fast direct train connections with New Delhi, Calcutta and Ahmedabad.There are direct, overnight, fast,convenient express trains between Calcutta and Puri and all stop at Bhubaneswar. An option from places other than those having direct rail links with Puri would be for you to come via Bhubaneswar, which has direct fast train connections from New Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Tirupati and Bangalore. All these trains have very comfortable air conditioned services. Bhubaneswar and New Delhi are connected twice a week by a fast prestigeous express train viz. Rajdhani Express(monday/friday from New Delhi and tuesday/thursday from Bhubaneswar).The train is fully air conditioned with excellent on-board services including western style meals. Besides, Bhubaneswar, being a modern capital city of the State of Orissa, has excellent taxi/tourist bus connections to and from Puri. Bhubaneswar is well equipped to handle all needs of tourists like excellent and affordable hotels, restaurants, and shopping facilities. Puri has a smaller town setup but is an equally accessible starting-point for famous tourist site of Konark.
