CARTER TWINS INTERVIEW: double the pleasure!
DOVE INTERVIEW: Donald Grahm and hazel,--they want to BLOW YOUR MIND!

Castlebar, August 9th, 1997. The KIT KAT 2fm beat on the street has arrived!

Featuring 2fm d.j's, Dance troups such as DLE, and NITRO, and top bands--DOVE, FAB, AND THE CARTER TWINS, the 1997 Beat in Castlebar was truly a concert to remember!!!!! IF you'd like some of the BACKSTAGE action, simply click on one of the interview links <------------- and read on!!! Following my quick stint on the radio with Dusty Rhodes on the HOTLINE, where I got to introduce The Carter Twins' then new single, "Love Changes Everything", and I got to talk with Dusty live on Air for a few minutes, the concert began. We watched the first hour from the audience, and were having a fantastic time, because the entertainment was top class!! The music was cool and new, the weather was great, the dancers, and the d.j's were fantastic, all amounting to a fabulous show!! After DOVE's fantastic performance of 3 of their songs, including their then single, " Just An Illusion" we went backstage and got to meet the people that had been entertaining Castlebar for the last hour!! Interviewing was great fun, all of the bands were so normal, that it was like talking to anyone on the street! No big headed-ness to be found anywhere!! (Not that I expected there to be any in the first place!) We watched FAB! then as they did their set, inluding "We Belong Together" and "Forever, Not Just Tonight" . After they had cooled down a bit, they also let us interview them!!! They were completley Bonkers, and Crazy, and sooo nice too!! It was a while before the Carter Twins got to sing their set, but the time passed so quickly, with a great blend of Music, hits and D.j.'s doing all kinds of mental things on the stage!! The Carter Twins then came on , with the screams of all the girls in the audience, and among others, in their set, they sang " Love Changes everything" , and " Don't Forget To Remember" After they left the stage, the girls who had been brought backstage to be made up as Spice Girls came back and danced to "Wannabe", and then we all had to cheer for which one we thought was the best!! Personally, I think the 6 year olds standing in front of the stage were doing the best job of it!! A few more songs, and then sadly it was " Time To Say Goodbye". Adrea Bochelli and Sarah Brightman sang us out as everybody cheered, and said goodbye, till next year. And remeber, watch out for the 2fm Beat on the street this summer, when it might be coming to a town near you! There are 3 Beats left for 1998, Sat. 8th of August in Wexford, Saturday 22nd of August in Dublin, and on Saturday, August 29th the final Beat, carries on its tradition and rounds up a Summer of parties in Cork!! Bands featured on the beats this year are : I.O.U., In Utopia, N.V, Men 2 B, and at featured Venues new pop sentation "Billie" will be appearing, as will B*witched, THE hottest new girl band to come out of Ireland!!! So, do your best to get along to one of the remaining Beats, because they are a MUST for the Summer!
