Releases/Doubt

DOUBT was organised around the texts which I extracted from Descartes' "Meditations". The texts are as they were in the original work. These suggested music and sound ideas which were refined by repeated recordings with the text and lots of collaboration with the musicians involved who made their sounds with my feedback and guidance. The texts gave us a shared focal point but each player, like each listener to the final work, had their own response to the text. The recordings were made in short bursts over several months.  The overall organisation of Doubt was driven by the fact that I was reading a lot of comics at the time and in sound I sought a similar sense of "framing" each part of the narrative quite clearly and having a strong sense of forward movement.
