Advice to the Dreamer

to say one and mean another.
isn't that the way life works?
to take for granted the words of the gods,
and to travel without going anywhere?

show me a place where I can tell the truth
and I'll show you a place out of time,
out of hope
out of peace
with a distance to great to traverse in a day.

nothing, nothing is hopeless
just tiresome without someone there to lean on
to trust
to dream upon
to cross the valleys with
and traverse that great distance with.

just sing me a song, and I'll go back to sleep
just comfort me like you do
and I will take that comfort to the grave
and bring with me the light of day
and present it before God
and be crowned with the most holy of lights
for keeping up the hopes of truth.
