Life Lost

A LIFE SPENT RUNNING,
A YOUNG LIFE GONE.
FOR A PICTURE, FOR MONEY.
IT WAS HER LAST DAWN.
A LOVE SHE DESERVED.
A LOVE SHE HAD FOUND,
A LOVE THAT SHE NEEDED,
BUT THEY KNEW NO BOUNDS.
IT WAS DARK IN THAT TUNNEL,
NO ONE KNOWS FOR SURE.
IN ONE SPLIT SECOND,
SHE CAN LOVE NO MORE.
HEARTBREAK SHE KNEW WELL,
SHE NEEDED TIME AT EASE.
HER WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED,
SHE HAS FOUND HER PEACE.
MANY AT FAULT,
WHO SHALL WE BLAME?
WE ALL WANT FORTUNE,
WE ALL WANT FAME.
THIS PRINCESS HAD BOTH,
AND BOTH HAD GONE TOO FAR.
SHE WAS JUST LIVING LIFE,
THAT NIGHT IN THE CAR.
 THE EYES OF THE WORLD
AND MILLIONS OF HEARTS,
STAND SILENTLY WATCHING
AS OUR PRINCESS PARTS.
SHE HAD HELPED MANY,
AND GIVEN ALL THEY WOULD LET.
HER LIFE MADE A DIFFERENCE,
WE WILL NOT SOON FORGET.
SHE LIVES ON IN OUR HEARTS,
WE WILL LONG TELL HER TALES.
REST IN PEACE, DIANA,
PRINCESS OF WALES.
