Marcy Mercer, longtime home economics teacher in the Woodridge School system has retired after 40 years of teaching. Here is a summary of her years of experience:

Bachelors Degree in Home Economics - Ohio University 1953
Masters Degree in Home Economics - Kent State University 1964

1957 - Boston Northampton 7th grade Science and Geography teacher 7th-12th grade Home Economics teacher
1958-1959 The school levy did not pass and therefore Home Economics was not offered in the Junior High schools curriculum during these years.

To honor her many years of service, Marcy received a rocking chair with the seal of Ohio engraved on it and a cookbook with recipes from co-workers and former students.

She has been married to Jack since 1954 and they have 11 grandchildren. Besides spending time with Jack on ship cruises, or visiting her children and grandchildren, she can be found selling fresh squeezed lemonade on selective weekends in downtown Peninsula to the many bicyclists who use the bike trail in the Cuyahoga Valley Recreation Area.
