Woodridge High will see changes coming to its athletic and administrative departments after this school year.
Planning to retire are principal Dave MacRaild, John Kane (assistant principal, girls athletic director and football coach) and Stan Stammen, who coaches wrestling, boys and girls cross country and girls track.
Kane, head football coach for the last five years, was named 1997 Portage County League Coach of the Year for leading the Bulldogs to the National Division title.
Kane said he may move to Florida to work for Forbes Recruit Evaluation Service, which is run by former Nordonia and Canton McKinley coach Terry Forbes and provides information on prep athletes for college football programs.
Stammen, also an industrial arts teacher, started the Woodridge wrestling program in 1963 and the cross country program two years later.
The recent highlights of the successful cross country program he established were the girls team's Division III state title in 1995 and runner-up finish in 1996.
