How To Become Members
HomePage (1) (a) Ordinary Membership - All aquarium fish breeders aged 18 years and
above residing in Johor interested in Aquaarium Fish shall be eligible
to apply to become ordinary members.
(b) Associate Membership - Any persons or registered companies and
educational institutions in the state of Johor interested in Aquaarium
Fish may be allowwed to enter as associate members. An associate member
may appoint 2 representatives to attend all general meetings.
(c) Honorary Membership - shall be conferred on persons distinquished by
eminence in public life or by service rendered to the association.
Candidate for Honorary Membership shall be appointed by the Committe.
Honoraary members shall not be made to pay any fees of the Association.
(d) Life Membership - Any Ordinary member who has been a member of the
Association for a minimum period of three consercutive yeaars and upon
payment of $360.00 lump sum may on application in writing become life
members with the approval of the Committe. Upon payment of the said
amount, a life member shall henceforth the exempted from paying the
annual subscription.
(e) Associate aand the Honorary members shall enjoy the same rights as
ordinary and life members except the right to vote and the right to
hold executive posts in the Committe.
(2) No university or University College student shall be admitted as a member
of the Association unless he or she has obtained a prior written permission
from the Vice Chancellor of the Univeersity concerned.
(3) Every application for membership shall be proposed and seconded by two
existing members and shall be forwarded to the Secretary reject any
application without assigning any reason therefor.
(4) Every applicant whose application has been approved as aforesaid shall
upon payment of the prescribed entrance fee and first annual subscription,
be admitted as a member of the Association and shall be entitled to all the
privileges of membership.
Entrance fee, subscription and other dues
(1) The entrance fee and subsrription payable shall be as follows :-
Entrance Fee Annual Subsription
Ordinary Members - $ 15.00 $ 36.00
Associate Members - $ 15.00 $ 72.00
(2) All annual subscription shall be payable to the Treasurer in advance
within 30 days of the first of each year.
(3) Any member who allows his arrears 'to exceed two years' subscription
shall receive a written notification signed by or on behalf of the
Secretary, and shall be denied the privileges of membership until he
settles his account.
(4) Any member who allows his arrears to exceed three years' subscription
shall automatically cease to be a member of the Association, aand the
Committte may direct that legal action be taken against him, provided
that they are satisfied that he has received due notice of his debts.
(5) The Committe shall have the power to fix a re-entrance fee for any
person who has allowed his membership to lapse through arrears.
(6) Special subscription or levies for particular purposes may be raised
from members by resolution of the general meeeting of the Association.
If any member fails to pay such subscription within such period as may
be resolved the amount due shall be treated in the same way as arrears
of annual sunscription.
