Fight Song:  ( To the tune of 'On, Wisconsin' )

On, Jal Panthers; On, Jal Panthers,
Fight right down that line.
Pass the ball around ol' (Eunice),
Touchdown every time.

On, Jal Panthers; On, Jal Panthers,
Fight on for her fame.
Fight, fellas--fight, fight, fight,
And win this game.

Substitute the opposing team's name in a way that makes it fit,
i.e., ol' Eunice, the Cardinals, Ft. Stockton, the Wildcats, etc.
something with three syllables.

Bill Dyer remembers it as "Fight right THROUGH that line"...
Could be. I just remember the way my mother always sang it.

Also, I suppose today's politically correct advocates might prefer
"Fight on for OUR fame", but I know back in those days we sang
"HER" when referring to our school.
There are three references to "HER" in the Jal Blue and Gold.

Actually, I don't remember many people ever singing it...just lots of
screaming and yelling while the band played it after a touchdown.

'Course, now that we all have the words, we'll have to sing it
at the big Y2K reunion......right ?

I'm adding a MIDI music file to this page soon,
So you can practice...

WARNING ! America Online Browser Users: DO NOT click on the box below. It is a sound and volume control box for the music, but for some reason it's screwed up in AOL.....as usual. If you click on it, you will probably receive one of those "illegal operation" messages and your program will be shut down. IF I can figure out how to fix it, I will. In the meantime, you will not be able to stop and start the music like everyone else. No big deal.
