The
frame
This was the day we picked
up the frame from JIM'S Custom V.W. Thats me sitting in the frame.
This is the frame after we
took it home. You can see the transaxle and some suspension peices in the
back ground.
Here is the frame with the
front end instaled. This is just prior to me taking it to school. Thats
my dad is sitting in the frame, and thats my friend Jeff standing next
to him
This is after I brought it
back from school. The shock towers were reinforced, drop seat mounts were
welded in, as were steering shaft bushing mounts, pedal cluster and master
cylinder mounts, the shifter box and most of the tabs for the floor.
Here I am welding the bottom
of a floor tab. Because of the drop mounts for the seats, two sheets of
aluminum were used for the floor
This is a good view of the
trailing arms, and the pushrod protectors. You can also see the cross shaft
which broke on me wile hill climbing
In this shot you can see
the drop mounts for ths seats.
Here you can see the front
braces, and if you look carefully you can also see the anti-crush bar.
From this angle you can see
the drop seat mounts, the anti-crush bar, the gas tank mounts and the oil
cooler mounts(there sticking up behind the gas tank.)
This series of pictures are
the treebars before and after
Here is the frame during
the painting processes. It was first fliped onto its roof so the underside
could be painted. It was then fliped right side up so it could be finished.
Here the trailing arms have
been instaled.
