Membership Involvement-Group Discussion

Jazz Ma Tazz is currently looking for creative ways to get members involved (current and new members) in activities in the non Winter months. The following recommendations were noted.

1. David Butler recommended that members bring friends to events. Board members should identify individuals they want to group with to get them involved and encourage them to attend activities.

2. Robert Harrison recommended that the sign in list from the annual party be used as a

way of contacting individuals to make them aware of the yearly activities. A group

should be formed to call these individuals and invite them to the general meetings and

events.

3. Cherlyn Harrison recommended that the guest sign in sheet contain an area for email addresses of guest who sign in at the party. These individuals should be added to the e-mailing list.

4. Karen Lodrig recommended that ski equipment and pictures are brought to the annual

party. She was informed that this occurred at the previous party. She also suggested that the General Meeting day be changed from the 3rd Friday of the month to the 3rd

Thursday of the month. The time should change to 6 pm instead of 7 pm. This may lead to better attendance at the monthly meeting.

Matt Sims stated that only 5 interested individuals responded to the email message for horse back riding. Therefore it was cancelled.

Karen Lodrig stated that there were not many members in attendance at the General Meetings.

Matt Sims stated that more members were present at the meetings last year.

Backyard Barbecue Comments

Several members made mention that the Backyard Barbecue hosted by David White was a success. Although the barbecue was scheduled from 4 pm to dusk, it went well into the night.

White Water Rafting (August 3-5, 2001)

Karen Lodrig/Cherlyn Harrison discussed White Water Rafting activities and fees (which were posted last month). Monies were due July 20th. Several members are planning to attend the White Water Rafting trip. Please see previous email for additional information.

NBS (AMCC) Ski Mini-Summit

Matt stated that the $50.00 pillow deposit was due today. However, has been extended to the end of the month. The next payment is due Aug 17th or at the next General Meeting.

Robin stated that you can check the web site at Aspenwood for a room description (www.aspenwood.com).

Matt stated that the $175.00/person registration fee is only for adults and include fees for Happy Hour 5-7 free drinks, entertainment, functions (arm bands are given). This money is used by NBS sponsor youth activities. Remember Jazz Ma Tazz Membership is from August 1st - July 31st. 2001 Membership dues are due soon.

In order to attend the Mini Summit you must be a paid (up to date) member. Matt stated that flying into Denver will be cheaper. This may off set the cost of airfare to Aspen. Denver is 214 miles from Aspen (~ 3 ½ hrs). He will check on a group rate for air fare. Mini Summit is from Saturday February 2nd, to Saturday February 9th.
